okay, when my sister and i were little kids, our mom called us all kinds of names in the book like stupid, idiot, b*tches, retards, and so on. well we grew up learning that we arent what she said we were. we learned raise our own children differently than how we were raised. i promised that i would never be like her. anyway, my mother just had to tell my daughter that she was a stupid little b*tch! my daughter came crying to me and told me what she said. i was so mad and i confronted her and asked why she needed to be called this. she said i can call whoever whatever i want! ive never thought id see that same heartless person again when i was small. i told her you are not my mother and they dont need you either. i told my children that no matter how bad it hurt that she had no right to say that to her GRANDbabies. they are my babies and that they are special to me. so now my mom tries to talk to them as if it never affected them. now they wont have anything to do w/ her i dont mind.

I have been thinking about it lately, and to me it seems I have.

My mother has been hitting me ever since I can remember. When I was 12 I got a bad mark at school, and she bashed my head against the wall, then hit me with her feet in my belly (i was on the fround because of the head wound). She gave me a black eye or a slpit lip from time to time.

My father beat me with the belt when I was 5, but other than that he was pretty absent from home. (he was away for long periods of time due to his job).

Mother has been constantly telling me I am stupid and ugly. I was so afraid of her that I once burst into hysterical crying at school because I could not solve a problem and I knew she would beat me when I get home.

They have me food and from time to time they bought me second hand clothes. I never had an allowance in my life, I have started working since I was 14.

Sexually, they have told me that sex is bad and that I am a whore if I sleep with a man.

I come from a very stubborn family. My grandmother was the 'glue' that held us all together. She passed away a year and a half ago and my mom and cousin took it really hard. They got into a huge arguement and haven't talked since. We all did our own thing last Christmas. Since our family was never really super close in the first place, we all kind of gave up on each other. I refuse to see this happen.

I don't know how to get everyone together again for Christmas when everyone is still upset about my grandmothers passing and practically hate each other.

I can see that we all love each other deep down and we want to stay together as a family but no one cares enough to try and some are too stubborrn to show up if I try to be the ring leader in all this.

What do I do to keep my family together?

my boyfriends babys mom went crazy when she found out were together and really serious. so shes going crazy and trying to take the one thing that matters the most to him, his daughter. she said he cant see her and shes gonna move out of town and he cant know were she lives. okay. so easily i can say go to court and everything will be settled. but thiers more to the story. They had thier daughter in high school and both of them are still young so for finance purposes before the baby was born they both signed legal guardianship to her grandma,(who has really good insurance.) but hes been thier since day one and he buys her everything. Hes all sad and depressed and i hate it! i wish i can do something but we have no idea what to do. & ya he can easily go back to her, which is what she wants, but its hard to leave something you love and you know its great and you want to make it work. but i feel bad because i know how much he loves his daughter. so HELP!!
please.

It's drawn out, but try to make it short but detailed.
My 5 yo daughter's father and I first of all broke up, because he had become a pathological/ habitual liar and I had started to become physical, I left him, because of the lieing, him detaining me and because of me becoming physical.
He found someone new, at first things were fine, until she started getting in the middle telling me how to parent and what I had the right and not the right to do.
He allows her to make false accusations against me, She posted my daughter's name on an adult profile, she doesn't allow him to spend extra time with my daughter, she thinks she should be involved in everything, when they aren't even raising their own 2 children.
Fathers, How would you feel about your current wife doing these things? How would you feel, if your child's mother ONLY on occasions involves your new wife?
Need any more info., just ask please.

...Instead, my husband and I would like a donation made in our name to a few charities that we are including in the email. It's hard to write and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or make them feel obligated. I'm just stuck. I have my two charities listed and why they are important to me, with the link to the donation area. I'm including my husbands three also. Any suggestions/comments are welcome. Thank you!

I am 25 and moving out. It is difficult for me to support myself because I earn little, butme and my parents we don't get along that well.

My parents bought me a PC in 2007, and not they say I can't take it with me to my new house, even though they gave it to me as a birthday present. Furthermore, because of this present they bought me nothing else for my birthday or Christmas for years.

Is this the way in which good parents behave?

What are people's thoughts on financially supporting parents? I was lucky enough to go to college and become financially independent. I lived better than my parents, and tried to help them out from time to time. My mom got cancer and as a result I supported them even more. I ended up being a full time caregiver to her for 6 months. Now that she is passed on I find myself finacially reeling from the ordeal. Only it get's worse. Now that my dad has only a SS check and no savings whatsoever, I pay all his bills and loans. I am going into serious debt trying to do what I think is right. But is it? My dad can't claim bankruptcy because they already did once. Now I am just bitter at life in general and partly wishing I had just ran away from it all.

I'm 18 and I lost this gold ring that my grandmother gave me. I'm an air head and I lose things all the time, and it's not that I don't care or appreciate the things I have but I seriously just forget. I'm a screw up.
I'm already kicking myself for losing it and I know that my mom, with all reason, is going to flip out when I tell her. She's going to be so mad at me.
Any advice on how to handle this? Should I just toughen up and take the heat? Is there anything else I could do?

We live in a 2 family house so it's my family on the top floor and my grandmother and the aides below us. The aide from Sunday I feel like is "invading us" in a sense. Whenever my grandmother is asleep she just walks up to us and starts chatting away with my parents who are busy but are "too kind" to tell her to leave. When we are eating dinner, she brings her plate of food that we bring her back up to us upstairs and plops herself down at the table; sometimes when we have private family dinner discussions I don't want other people around. Just last month when planning my sister's Sweet 16, the aide sort of invited herself and planned her schedule so that sh wouldn't be working on Sunday the day of the party?

How do I get my parents to listen about this? They are too nice to demand the aide stay downstairs or to leave us at the table when talking privately.

Have any of you been in similar situations with aides who sort of like to cling on to the familes they work for?

I'm 20 years old and have a job and love working.
My now ex bloke wanted a baby with me and i said no i have no intension of ever having a baby, maybe in years to come my views may change but right here right now i do not want kids.
I love my body and do not want to spoil it and right now i have no room in my life for a child i want to live a little and work.

So he told me to think again or it was over,
So i told him to get stuffed no one threatens me like that it was over.
He now sends me email saying how evil and cold i am because i put my job first and i should get pregnant the feeling of being a mother will change when i have one growing in me but i am evil not to even give it ago.
I replyed with the fact we have been together 3 months and how the hell is that long enough to know we will be together for ever i hardly know him and i have never told him i love him.

SO the question is in light of the above facts am i evil?

i think not but my sisters agree with him and say i am evil

My step-child has very, very poor hygiene habits. At 17 years old he'll wear the same clothes for a couple of days or clothes he knows are dirty, rarely brushes his teeth, his bathing habits are very cursory, he picks his nose and wipes under the couch, sticks gum to the underside of the kitchen table, somehow there were maggots in his laundry, and treats our home like his personal garbage dump.

My husband says that I have to help him with this problem, but he is very inconsistent and very often isn't paying attention. Very often this means that its going to be my responsibility to address the issue consistently.

If we talk to him, try to keep him consistent with his hygiene and personal standards, he calls him Mom to come get him. She does not understand why he's like this, but she also doesn't do anything about it and insists everyone be nice to him.

Any suggestions? 'cause I'm lost.

I stopped reading there, but now I already know abt it. What should I do? Act as if nothing has happened or tell my mom now, before this friday at my party??But if I tell her I already know, then wouldn't she feel as though everything has been a waste??

My mother is in her 80's and her partner of 10 years is in his late 70's, flirts with women behind her back, and makes arrangements to meet up with them. One of her friends revealed this to her as he made a pass at her also. He ignores her when they go to gatherings and he always looks for a second opinion when she suggests her opinion about anything. I have told her what I think but maybe this is from a younger perspective, she is very frustrated as he only behaves like a live in housekeeper, any suggestions? would be appreciated.
