My mom asked me to check her cell for a text from my aunt. But instead, I came across a sent message to one of my friends which read: hi Courtney, this is Diane's mother. I'm planning a surprise birthday party for her this friday and I need your help to contact the rest of her friends..

I stopped reading there, but now I already know abt it. What should I do? Act as if nothing has happened or tell my mom now, before this friday at my party??But if I tell her I already know, then wouldn't she feel as though everything has been a waste??

Just act surprised! I had this same thing happen with my baby shower, and I did not want to ruin all the work everyone had done so I kept it to myself and acted surprised and enjoyed myself.

Well, at the end of the day, all you know is that there will be a party - the rest still is a surprise! I would just carry on as normal, and only admit you know anything if asked directly :)

I don't think you'll have to practise your 'surprised' face, because you still don't know what they've planned!

you should just let your dad throw you the party and try your best to have fun. dont worry about whether or not your friends will think its stupid...they know you didnt plan it & if they're really your friends they'll just enjoy being with you. you should be happy that your dad cares enough about you to put all the work into throwing a party! it seems like you're just a depressed person, so you should talk to family, friends or a counselor and they can help you to stop feeling sad all the time. you should read catcher in the rye, btw b/c for some reason (not that you're a delinquent or anything, please dont take this the wrong way) your random depression kinda reminds me of the main character's. anyways, i hope everything works out

Well, I think it's entirely up to you. 1) How would you feel if you acted like you know nothing and pretend to be surprised on friday? 2) How would you feel if you told your mum you already knew? Hopefully by answering these questions it will help you make a decision. Good luck!

i think you should act like you never saw it because i know that your mom will be disappointed if she thinks that she is going to plan a big surprise b-day for you and then you tell her you know about. so just don't tell any one and when the surprise bday comes act extra surprise!

Get out your acting abilities and pretent to be surprised, your mom went to all of the trouble to get this party together, don't waste her efforts. Have fun!!

Just pretend to be surprised. Your friends and family are going through a lot of trouble to see the look on your face. You better give it to them!
