im a kid with there mum and dad divorced and i know thats pretty commen but my dad moved to switland which was ok because he can come easily no hastle but now hes in japan and its really hard to see him an iknow its been a year since he moved but its really starting to kick in now i mean i hardly ever see him, has this happend to you and can you tell me what i should do?

My dad is dead iam glad.U dad has moved far away from u that means he couldnt care aless of u wake up and see that the person who been there for u and still is is u mum if u dad cared he wouldnt have moved that far away from u and if he cared about u he would make sure he would visit u loads he needs to think of u and not himself. Test him

I am 56 and have been thru a divorce and also was an elem school teacher and my heart always goes out to kids and young people. Divorce is icky, I don't care if most kids go thru it, it is icky, so you have every right to feel the way you do. I think most times adults don't understand how devastating it is for kids, they are probably so wrapped up in their own pain they forget the kids are innocent bystanders. I am sorry this is happening to you. I will pray that someone will come along and help you with a "Kid" answer. My kids, now 28 and 30 used to be in a group and they would tell the ones like you, "we survived it, and it is icky, but you will make it thru" It is very very important that you do not try to be the strong one, you need to really express these feelings openly, if you parents are not in an emotional place to listen find a youth leader or school counselor to talk to, you need to process this, not pretent everything is OK . Parents don't see divorce as kids do, they can be the best of parents and just be so swamped by their own emotions and all. Good luck to you, hang in there, Divorce is awful for kids !!!!! so sorry

It is very hard when parents split up and one has to move away. If he is in Japan and could access a computer - you could ask if you could buy a webcam to fit yours. Then once you have the time difference sorted - you may be able to talk and "see" him that way.

this has happened 2 me. 2 deal with thing u shud fone him or send him an email. im sure everybody wud miss their dad. but mayb it wont b perminate. just make sure ur dad knows u miss him and he mite change his mind and come home.

why not try writing to your dad saying you miss him,maybe he might come back for a visit,or better still pay your fare for you to go there for awhile?.

Does he have email? MSN? Ask him to get a webcam, then you can see & talk to him everyday. Skye is good to.
