I was at my house with my girlfriend and my mom and dad were out, and we were just watching TV on the couch and then my dad got home he made my girlfriend leave. Then when she was out the house he turned on me and hit me in the chest. I had fallen to the floor because he hit me really hard, then he grabbed my left rist really hard as I tried to get up stairs. I tried to fend him off and tried to get out of his grip and he just punched me really hard and I fell on the stairs and hit my head on the banister.

He yelled at me not to bring a girl back, even though we hadn't done anything.
I have a brother who is a bit of a delinquent and when he was my age my dad found a girl half naked in his room while he was in the bathroom. He did the same to my brother, I was only 10 when it happened.

My older sister started to yell at him for hitting me and he almost got violent with her.
I haven't seen my dad like this, and I had to tell my mum bullies had caused the bruises.

HELP!!

About 1-2 weeks ago my boyfriend's parents started buying rum and mixing it with Coke. And ever since my boyfriend has been drinking every night (some if not most nights he will get drunk) and I'm really concerned. His parents allow him because "they would rather have him do it with them instead of behind thier backs" but I don't agree with the way they're raising him...but that's not up to me....I've talked to my boyfriend about it (who is 17) and encouraged him to not do so but everytime he gets mad...how can i talk to him? or better yet, what should i do? i dont want this to affect his grades (which are really good right now) and this is not something a teenager should do its bad for the brain!

god, i dont know what to do. Here's the story, my older brother got really depressed cause his ex broke up with him cause she was cheating on him. and then he started cutting himself and thinking about suicide. he got help from a psychiatrist. i thought he got better, but i was wrong. he woke last night, oct. 28. 2007 claiming he had a really bad nightmare. and the music he listens to is about suicide, death, cutting yourself, devils, demons, dark angel, etc. and that music isn't making his depression any better. and i guess the dream was about possessed creatures, or devils, something with the devil in it. and my younger brohter found a razor blade in the bathroom. and i dont know what to do. i'm so scared. and dont tell me to tell my parents cause they already know.

i have a family member who used to be close to me, like a brother, even though he was always a difficult person and had a lot of problems, mainly having to do with isolating himself and turning people against one another by gossiping back and forth. i knew it was happening but i ignored it thinking it harmless. then i started to notice that the gossiping and trouble-making extended outside of my family and "friends" of mine started jabbing at me and there seemed to be some rumors going around about this or that thing. i waited for months to be sure and when i noticed literally dozens of pieces of info that could only have come from this one family member were circulating through the grapevine, i confronted him.

what does a person do when they are caught back-stabbing? they deny it of course. i can't prove it with evidence. it escalated yelled at him to tell me the truth and to stop lying. he's turning the whole thing around on me. how should i handle this situation?

he constantly yells, calls my dog a monster, etc. He won't spend ANY money on gifts, he buys the cheapest version on our wish lists. He actually listens in while I tell others riddles and comes in later and pretends he figured out the answer himself. He's probably coming up for my birthday this saturday. HHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm feeling kind of guilty - tell me what you think. My son is a senior in high school. He has had his license for about 6 months.

We told him before he got it that he would have to pay his own auto insurance, which was about $75 a month. We also told him if he got into an accident or got a ticket, he'd have to pay the additional charges. He had a wreck about a month after getting his license. His portion went up to about $160 a month, but I have him paying $120 of it..... This is HIS portion alone - you don't even want to know what the total premium is now. :( lol

Is it wrong to make him pay his own insurance? I feel kind of bad because that is a whole paycheck for him, but I also want him to learn what it's like to be responsible for at least one bill before he moves out and has to take on a BUNCH of bills.

Your opinions please?

My fiance and I stay together. Im good friends with her cousin. He and I had a disagreement about 3 wks ago. We hadnt spoken to each other since. Last week I called him and left a vmail to give me a call so we can squash our diffrences. He didnt call me back so I figgured he was still upset about the situation. (No big deal) I just figgured He will come around to talk when he is ready. We both said some pretty disrespectful things to each other and almost fought. However, Last nite he shows up at my house while I was out. Still hadnt returned my call or anything to smooth out our problem. Im not mad at the situation anymore, but I was upset that he said what he said and then set foot in my house without speaking to me 1st. to me I would never have a beef with a man and walk in his house with out smoothing that problem over 1st. Out of respect for his home. I wouldnt care if he was dating my sister. He is the man of his home, Its a priciple thing to me. Am I wrong for thinking like that

I am devastated because I was babysitting a little 7 year old boy for my neighbor and I walked in my daughters room because they were being too quiet and caught them kissing, I immediately beat them unmercifley and told his mother when she got there as well, I don't want to go overboard because I don't want her to think that it's something she should do to be defiant but I also want this to stop and never happen again, what should I do?

Short version: I'm 22 and in graduate school, my boyfriend is 24. My family HATES him and i'm in counseling for it. My therapist even agrees that they are being unreasonable and irrational. Anyway, back in mid september I get an email from my mother outlining every wrong my boyfriend has ever done and then she says that they think its best if they have little to no contact with me from now on so I can be happy. Anyway, some things happened and i've gotten a few emails (mostly about my grandmothers health or having to put my horse down). Then she goes on vacation with my grandparents and emails me to say she sent a box of grape juice and something else for me home with them (my parents live in another state, my grandparents an hour and a half from me) and that I can go to their house whenever and pick it up. She had previously told them that if they were in town they weren't to take me out to lunch or stop by to see me. Now i'm getting presents from her? So, what do I do?

We have a two year old son who loves his grandparents more than anything. And they love and spoil him to death! They ask me to bring the baby over all the time. anyways... i was over there cooking dinner for the whole family! (i get bored cooking for 2 1/2) sooo... my SIL (sister in law) came storming in the house and said "I hope you have enough for my friends that are coming over." of course i didn't. then she opended the fridge and spilt what was in the side door. and then said "god dammit kristina pick up this f*ing mess." and i told her to do, so she let the dogs lick it up. i was floored. So i went outside for a breath before i killed her, and then came back in cooked dinner and then we ate. i cleaned up dinner and was getting the babys stuff together, and she said "Hey why don't you stop bringin that kid over here i can't sleep when he's here, i don't know why you can't take care of your own child, and when you have the next kid i am moving out" WE LIVE FAR AWAY

I had my b/f's mother sign up for childcare so she could get paid for babysitting my kids since I can't afford to pay her out of my pocket right now. I didn't know she was receiving money from another source from the state for someone to come and cook her meals, wash her clothes etc, etc. We filled out the paperwork In May of this year and last month I went to speak to my caseworker and asked why hasn't my sitter received her payment and she told me because she was recieving money from this other source so they could not pay her. So my sitter said she couldn't watch my kids anymore a week after I told her what my caseworker had said. She knows that I don't know anyone here and that I don't have anyone else to watch my kids. She just all of a sudden told me that I would have to quit my job , that way maybe my caseworker will get on her horse about paying her. I am a single parent of 3 children and I can't afford to pay her. She's calling and emailing me demanding payment. What can I do?

My boyfriend might be going to jail. We have been together for 4 and a half years. He has custody of his 10 year old son and we would like him to be able to stay with me. My questions are, what legally can I do to make sure that happens? Without spending a lot of money of course. And are there programs that I could get assistance with to help with the bills? I do have a job and can work more hours, but it will be a struggle right away. Thanks in advance with tips.

I met my son's future mother-in-law and found her to be an intelligent person. She carried on a wonderful conversation with me and invited me to have dinner with her family. For this dinner, she had invited her 2 brothers and their families. I conversed about the charities that I raise money for and one of her brother's said he has 5 kids and he's a charity case. Everyone burst into laughter at his comment. Her other brother made the comment that he has 5 boxes of cereal. I asked why? He told me because he wanted a certain prize. I glanced at my son's future mother-in-law and she was looking straight at me. She raised one eyebrow and gave me a smirk smile. She never said anything, it was just that look that she gave me. I can't figure out why she gave me that look. What does it mean??

My husband and I have been married for 4 years this Thanksgiving. My oldest son was 5 when my ex and I divorced and he was 6 when I met my new Husband. They got along great and DH loves my son as if he were his own. DH and I had a baby boy 2 years ago, and all seemed well in my household - until recently. My 12 year old is constantly testing the waters lately; doesn't do chores that he is supposed to do, is slacking off in school more lately, and seems to be "butting heads" with his Stepfather more and more over every little thing.

Could it be that he's hormonal because he's starting puberty and that's making him more unbearable? Could it be that my DH and my son are too much alike and seem to be more and more like oil and water? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get my son to respect my husband more, and my DH to be a little more understanding to my 12 yr old?
