Yes, she is a little crazy, freaking out sometimes...they don't have a good relationship, and I honestly think she only loves money and herself. They had a huge fight some month ago, and since then we haven't talked to her.

If your husband's mother is destructive and disruptive, it may be best to protect your own family by not talking to her, especially if your husband has already come to this decision.
But if she is just nutty and annoying, maybe you can develop some way of having a relationship without going crazy yourselves. Limit your contacts to situations you can tolerate, and develop a sense of humor.

Don't you know you should be the bridge between them and stop the whole scubble? If you fail to talk to your mother in law, you are indirectly looking for a way out of the family. Your husband will reconcile with his mother at the long last and you will carry the blame. Carry out the reconciliation as fast as you can.

That's you rmother in law and and his mother you are family nothing in this world should be more important than family not even a arguement try fixing things and getting your family back on track I have a nasty mother in law she has attitude problems but I look past that and try my best to keep our family at some speaking terms because of my now ex and our children some people get older and become mean and selfish maybe she has become one of those lookk over her and try to keep the peace.

You are not your husband and he is not you. If you still get along with his mother there's no reason you shouldn't talk to her. Maybe you can help them start communicating again. Be careful about taking sides. Your husband will see you as betraying him in some ways but that's his issue. Stay as neutral as possible if you do talk to her.

This is a common situation. It completely depends on the reasoning behind it, if something major has happened concerning you as well as your husband then you probably shouldn't speak to her if your husband deems it wrong.

But then again if it doesn't involve you then you have every right to speak to her, especially if it is something childish. You have to remember that if you both don't speak with her then things could be very, very uncomfortable in the future.

Be your own person this is a mother son thing nothing to do with you (unless it's about )If it's just something that's really between just him and his mom then stay out of it you have no reason not to speak to his mom . When you see her speak it's called respect. Where you involved in the big fight , If your answer is no then you stay out of it and speak to her when you see her. remember blood is thicker then water that's his mom. today he might love or hate her but tomorrow that's his mom. feel me

i think you should talk to her ,cautiously though. Make sure you stay neutral and don't touch on sensitive matters. Be as polite and friendly as possible yet, a little distant.

You can talk to her, but why? If she only loves money and herself, and has no respect for the man you love, why do you want to?

not really. if you're given a choice, don't you want to change that? don't you want them to treat each other as a mother and son should. maybe they need your help.

communication is the key.

Depends why your husband doesn't talk to her. Does it effect you? Did she do something terrible?
