I find myself getting sick and tired of trying to understand. One is there for them. But then they get their dumb a**es in trouble, one has to get them out of that. And still do they learn? No. It's like one has to be watching them like one would a small child. And I am getting fed up with it. Also they are in such a rush to get out of the house. Now, with no job no place to live. One knows they are just gonna do something stupid and end up coming back. To mommy and daddy. At times like these don't you just wish they would leave already?

Why do people still get so upset about their children not being invited? Weddings are so expensive, and children really don't care in the grand sceme of things, so why do the parents?

He one second will be so nice, and hug kids, and then the next, he will push them in the face... I always tell him No and it's not nice, and have him say sorry. And then we leave. And I take him home and explain why we are going home. What else can I do?? This is so sudden, he loves playing with kids... I think he got it from seeing older boys wrestle and rough around... But those kids are usually siblings or friends. He doesn't really understand you can't just go and jump or hit a random kid at the park. Any suggestions??

Child Identification?
My ex has requested that he get our sons S.S# and birthcertificate to obtain an I.D for our son, siting that he was afraid he would go to jail if pulled over. We are going to be going to a hearing soon, he isnt listed on the birth certificate however has been adjudicated the father. I appreciate his concern and told him I would be contacting an officer on tues. to see how to get an I.D, I still dont feel that unless ordered in court to give up this information to him that I really dont want to out of concerns for what it really will be used for. I have a lot of trust issues with him and I am not sure what my rights are and dont want to make a bad move at this point. Does anyone know????? Please give advice!

I was at the park today when my husband and I let our 4 & 5 yr olds go play on the jungle gym. Well as soon as my son walks over to play a little boy picked up a handful of mulch/shredded tire mix and threw it in my son's face! We were furious. My little boy looked at us and my husband told him to hit the little boy. I didn't agree but what would you have done? His parents were nowhere to be found.

What --- of everything else --- do you regret you weren't there for?

Do you cry at family events wishing you were more when your children were younger?

What would you have changed if you could go back and have a do-over?

Focused more on their birthdays? Focused less on the bills and more on the events of their lives? Knew every item they were interested in and helped them evolve with those dreams?

What would you give now that you weren't able to then....if you could take back time?

Hi there!

Good Evening too you all! Hope that you all are having a great holiday weekend!

We have a 3 1/2 year old son, named Jason. Who is the most pickest eater around. He eats nothing but, yogert, breakfast bars & mac and cheese. He has gone through phases where he ate things like fish sticks, Chicken nuggets. But, then stopped all together. We have tried everything we know how to do to get him to eat. NO LUCK!!!! Now his teeth are beinging to suffer. That is getting fixed but, we want to kick this thing in the butt before bad things happen. He has been to the Dr. He says he is a healthy boy. Jason will be 4 in Aug. He is 40 1/2 " tall and weighs 44 pounds. He is always running around. It is very rare for him to sit at all.
Any ideas on how we can get him to eat meat, fruit and veggies. I just don't know how to get him to eat these things. You can't force it.

Ideas or suggestions???
Thanks!!!

We are having a 3rd child in Dec and there is no way that 3 car seats will fit in our little car(Geo Storm). We are looking for another vehicle. What would be the best for us? I might add that we are concidering having another child within the next 2 to 3 years also but are unsure at this time.

It's not abuse, it's only using open hand, on the backside but yes, l do put some weight behind it. This is my right, and my choice as his mother. What gives some people the right to criticise me for this? l don't judge them for not doing it, and having badly reared children.

My 1 yr old scraped her finger the other day on a shelf. I washed it and put peroxide on it. It has been a few days, now it is red and swollen around the scabbed area. I assume it is infected, but I am unsure of what to do now. Do I keep cleaning it, or should I take her to the doctor? I have heard of instances where a little infection turns into something 10 times worse. So just wondering if anyone had any opinions on what to do. Thanks.

Someone asked a question recently if it was ok that they allow their children to pee in the yard when they are swimming in the pool. One thing I hate more than anything is getting the house all wet and walking into a cold air conditioned house. I think it is perfectly acceptable to pee in ones yard as long as there is a fence or a shed to pee behind. I've even done this a few times while I am working in my garden. I am curious how many other ladies pee in their yard instead of going in the house? Do you let your children too?

I am the mother / step-mother of 3 girls (ages 23, 15, 10). I stopped spanking the middle girl last year and her behavior has deteriorated. She is not doing her chores, she has become rude, she misses curfew, her grades have slipped. I know that much of this is normal teen behavior. I also know other ways of discipline; but she is not responding to grounding, loss of priviledges, lectures, or much else. I have also been consistent with the groundings and such; she abides by them but no change in behavior.

Please do not misunderstand. She is not horrible. She is still a good, sweet girl. I am venting frustration.

Over my objection, my husband spanked her; same way he did when she was younger. Across his lap, with his hand.

Strangely, it worked. There has a been a marked improvement. He says that I should not hesitate to spank her too as it has been my job traditionally to discipline the girls. But is she not too old? How old is too old?

Recently in my town there have been two horrible cases of child abuse. In both cases the victims were infants, three and four months. The fathers were under the age of twenty-five years, and had an alleged history of domestic violence against women. Also the young mothers worked full-time. In our county newspaper someone made the statement that the fathers did what they did because they were "young and immature". I know what I think but what I would like to know is what do you think of this statement? Can child abuse ever be contributed to lack of maturity and being too young? How could anyone not see that if they are abusing women that they could abuse children? Serious answers please.
