Depends on the health of the parents. When you start turning 40 there are risks involved but many still have no problems. The other large factor is how old will you be when you are teaching your kids to drive, how old when they graduate, and how old when they marry? And how fair is it to the child? What happens when you are 60 and leave a small child behind? How fair is the outcome to the child should be primary.

Medically proven early 20's is the best time to fall pregnant, theres less risk of complications and health problems for mother and baby. Your biological clock starts ticking around 33 and the risks get higher of having a child with some problems. So any time between 20-32 years old is the safest time.

Some people are just as vital at 45 as others at 25.....so that is a personal health issue. I think women under the age of 40 are probably best suited for having a child...but any aged woman can be a great mom and raise a child. I adopted at the ages of 27 and again at 41.

A woman can have a baby naturally as long as she is still having periods. The oldest women to do so in this country, (UK), was 55. She gave birth to one healthy bouncing baby boy. I don't think there is an age that is too old. As long as the body is able and the mother/parents are willing there should be no age limit.

Hi.
I think that anything over 40 is too old as it can bring severe complications throughout preganacy.
Saying this, when you are 40, you are probably much more capable emotionally of being a parent and also financially better equiped too!!
It's just a shame the two can't come together!!
Good luck with your pregnancy xxx

I agree that 40 would be last chance for a baby, I don't think you have the energy etc, and plus there are the added health risks for the mum and baby. You also have to look at the childs view do they want to loose their parents when they're young, take over the parenting role, as they're parents are no longer able to do anything etc.

My mother had me at 36, which she thinks is too old. However I think about 40 would be my limit due to health risks and also not having the energy to run around after a young child. You want to be around to see them grow up and settled.

I don't think that age is nearly as important as being in a committed, married relationship with a good man who you love with all your heart.
EDIT:
Sorry, I didn't read the whole question properly...
Too old...well, it depends on the person, their health, and their situation. I am 32 and calling it quits...not because I'm too old but because I don't feel healthy enough to give another baby life.
