I once got mouthsoaping.

I've heard of people who have put Tabasco sauce on kid's tongues.

How do you feel about this one? A friend told me that when she and her brother were young, her brother swore at their mother, so she (just as a threat, but would never carry it out) bought him a pink lipstick and told him if he swore again he'd have to wear it.

He never swore at her again!

we moved into a small village from a town & the best school in village is a small catholic run school.
I am not bothered but my husband is not happy (we follow no religion) as our daughter has started coming home from school saying prayers & singing hyms.
I don't mind as i have looked up the religion & prayers on net & as far as i can see it's all about being kind & offering jesus your problems as god will help you.
how comfortable would you feel ? Am i doing the right thing ? the classes are really small & the school is disaplined & i like the school as does our daughter but i do think i should think about the religion & participate for my daughters sake but hubby, as i said feels uncomfortable.

My 14 year old, Nina, is very close to me. We act like best friends rather mother and daughter. Yesterday she asked me if she could have sex with her boyfriend, Michael. I said I'll think about it. Michael is a very nice boy. But, I am really scared. What should I do? Should I trust Michael? Should I wait til she's older? Should I talk to Michael's parents? Someone help me please!

Not only that, but he has a job, and has no money for gas so I have to buy his gas so he can get to school,(there is no bussing to his school thats an hour round trip) but he has stashes of weed all over? He will be 18 in just a few days and I feel like such a failure! He was smoking in the house last night, left roaches and rolling papers laying around, he knows I am NOT okay with this, and I threw what I found away this morning, so he gets mad at me for throwing the stuff away? I don't know what to do anymore. I truly feel like a failure as a parent and with him being 18 in a few days, it's about out of my hands. Is there any way to get through to him?

OMG! I love my 2 year old to death, he's cute and cuddly, makes me laugh and gives the best hugs. BUT, I HATE BEING A PARENT!

I can't stand that I have to get up at the crack of dawn even on weekends. That I can't just go and do stuff that I want to do without having to arrange babysitting in advance. I haven't had a date with my husband in months. The list goes on. I'm spending so much of my time crying, I'm so frustrated.

I want desparately to get over this. I just don't know how. Does anybody have constructive advice to offer?

If we could change the laws, would you let the father have the kids on an equal time frame, and give up child support?

I for one would have loved six months of every other weekend visitation.

And then I could have my kids back for 6 months.

And we wouldn't have to worry about Child Support, would we, because, If he had them half the time, I could afford to have them half the time.

I've had my 3 kids 24/7 for the last 8.5 years. He takes my boy almost 4 days a month, when he feels like it...but not the girls for the last 8 years. Yes, they are his. No, they were not small the girls were 12 and 9 when he left and my son was 5. Yes, the oldest is in college. No, he will not pick up when she gets up the courage to call. He has hurt her terribly as she thought she was Daddy's girl and he thought she was Disposable.

I think it is time the courts made fathers accountable as parents, not a paycheck.

What do you think?

hes not as thrilled as i am.He has joint custody and sees his son 50%.I have asked him to go with me to my ob appts. but hes allways "too busy" at work but will drop everything to help his ex if she can't take thier son to the dr. or dentist. He allways goes to ALL his sons games/school activites whenever they are and helps out.I have to plan anything i want him to do(our baby stuff) around his schedule.now some of this maybe from the guilt over the divorce(over 6 yr ago) but i was told by many he was very involved with his 1st child before the divorce(went to ALL the ob appts.,talked about it all the time, went screaming thru the hospital "I HAVE A SON" ect)Now i love my stepson very much and i just wished my husband showed as much excitment about our baby as he did/does to his 1st son.I have talked to him about it but he gets defensive and denies it but actions speak louder than words. Is this just normal because the 1st child is allways the favorite?

I'm a divorced parent and my son has just made a new friend in his father's neighborhood. I haven't had the chance to meet him or his parents and I have a concern that I don't know how to bring up.

My son often plays at his new friend's house across the street from his dad's house, and this is kind of new to me. In my neighborhood there are mostly elderly folks, so he hasn't had the chance to do this until now.

My concern is whether or not there are firearms in his friend's house and if they're properly locked up and stored.

How do I kindly confront his friend's parents with my concern? I feel it's appropriate to know these things, but the family is new to the neighborhood and I don't want to bring it up in a negative way.

Any suggestions?

When children are in their teens they have been taught a tremendous amount of information to help their academic future. They have very little education on surviving the teens or coping with parents that expect them to "grow up" just because they are growing physically. In trying to cope, teens have a tendency to use what they have learned in the school yard, and academically, in situations that have no logical connection to either. It is all they know and we as parents tend to wait for situations to blowup before we even begin to explain (or holler) the information that would have made the mountain of an emotional problem into a mole hill.

My brother called my childrens poor because I don't buy my 4 childrens the best things, buy there clothes at a high end store, and let them sit there, not doing any work. I have 4 childrens and my brother has 1 child. He tells me that I have bad parenting skills. I buy their clothes at Macy's and I buy there shoes at kids footlocker, its not like I buy there stuff at goodwill or anything, they have plenty to eat, and I buy games to them, they have to earned a good grade to buy all the good stuff. I don't want my childrens to be lazy slobs.

I need some advice. I've recently begun taking my son into the ladies room with me. My question is what do I do when I need to go? Do I take him in the stall with me?(I really don't feel comfterable leaving him outside the stall) Is it ok for me to let him watch me go? How do you or how have you handled this situation with your little boys?

would u consider serously dating a single dad who has a 3 year old and spoils him rotten. the kid never gets told no and has more material posessions than most adults. the dads justification is that he loves him so he will spoil him. i think thats bad for the kid and he might turn to be a brat. reason im asking is becuase we might some day become a family togheter, my daughter is not raised that way, would it be too conflicting to try to join into one family with that kind of diffreence .

With our, it doesn't have anything to do with the amount of curse words, it has to do with the song's message. If I hear them listening to a song, and the song's message is something I wouldn't want them to do or say, then we tell them to turn it off.

My brother in-law, however, shields his kids from anything other than music that has it's roots in scripture or praise to God.

Still another Christian family I know of chooses to let their kids listen to whatever they want...citing that shielding your kids from things only makes them want it more.

How do you feel?

l am totally against spanking. l'm not criticising anyone, but l will not do it. Now, all my extended family, and most of my friends with kids are for it. l have 3 kids, 2-8, who are as well behaved and badly behaved as any other kids. However, when any of the other kids l know act up, they are straight away spanked, but nobody says anything. lf one of mine does a similar thing wrong, l'm told 'that's what you get for not disciplining your child", even when l'm not particularly fazed by their behaviour. What's going on? l've never argued with any of them about spanking, so they shouldn't be feeling offended. What do you think/would you do?

Of my own experience, I have found that having raised 3 children to full adulthood the child we are now raising is having a lot easier time of it; as are we.

Here's one of my thoughts that I believe should be in the book. Parents should remember that children have no idea what what you are talking about on many occasions because they have yet to have the majority of life experiences. If this isn't taken into account the adult or the child will surely become frustrated and some times angry.

l don't mean to offend anyone on either side of the fence, and let me make it clear, l don't have either type of child yet! What l'm wondering is, do you think you can love an adopted child the SAME, as you love a biological child? I don't mean you can't love them equally, but can you love them in the same way. Also, and again l mean no offence, do you think the idea of wanting your own 'flesh and blood' is natural or selfish? Please answer honestly.
