Kid's at that age should not be doing that, that's the behavior of a child 2-4. Why dont you put a big poster board up in her room and let her go to town on it? That might fix the problem, if it doesnt make her clean it off the walls, like my Mom used to do.

Well. if you are observant at all look at her face and it will tell you if she is upset with you for telling her she did something wrong or for you not liking what she was doing. Did you teach her first or did you just get upset with her. She maybe did not know that she was doing anything wrong. If so talk to her about it first. She has a right to be artistic. Give her some colors and let her experiment with her hands and colors. Its okay to make a mural on her wall if she wants to to be creative for a seven year old that is the start of a great career if she has a mind to and it is up to you to make sure that someone teaches her about the good things in life. So don't cry about spilt milk for crying out loud isn't the best thing in the world to worry about. Don't worry, Be Happy!!!!

yes its normal but not okay! dont leave her with any thing to do when u put her on a time out. (this is so she is thinking about what she did wrong) keep all writing materals out of her reach. time outs should only be lasting about 10 min. after 10 min is up remind her why she was in time out and ask for an appoligy. if she leaves the room or the time out area before the time is up tell her she must start the time out over again.

I suggest making her wash it off the walls. I know she's only seven, but pencil comes off the wall with just an eraser and she might think twice about making a mess if she knows she'll have toclean it up herself.

Have her clean it then explain to her that it was wrong.
if she does it again take away her tv/computer or video game time and hide all the pencils, pens, crayon, markers etc. If she needs one she has to ask for it.
put one of those inflatable thingies ( i forgot the name) when you punch it it just comes back up , and tell her to hit that when shes frustrated BUT remember to tell her to only hit that and not people or other kids.
or you could just have her punch a pillow.
