I have a 10 year old adopted son whom I have raised the past 4 years. After several attempts to correct his behaviors, he continues to steal from me and others, touch others innappropriately, act aggressive towards others, and use very very bad language. He has received weekly therapy and phyciatry help but he refuses to behave. Knowing him better than anyone else, I know for a fact that he knows better and is capable of doing very well. He is actually very intelligent. Well I have just recently made the decision to send him to military school before he gets more out of hand but people keep telling me that I am being too harsh. What do you think?

I still walk mine to bed at night and tuck them in and they are 8 on Sunday. It is not because they can't do it but because they want me to say goodnight to them . It is also a great time to talk to them individually if they want to talk about any problems. I read you should always stick your head in even when they are teenagers to say goodnight as they will often talk through problems before bed.
I like having this time with them ,often it is only a couple of minutes but they hate it if i ask them to put themselves to bed without this one on one time.
how does bed time work at your house?

my 5 month old daughter wakes up in the middle of the night and screams. I try to nurse her back to sleep because that always help but she fights me and doesn't seem to be awake. She also sleeps in the bed with me and my husband so she is in a comfy zone. Is she having night terrors? If so what could be making her have them? How can I help her and me and my husband get a good nights sleep?

I have two kids who just laugh and curse me out when I tell them "no". I'm on the verge of using an old fashioned belt on both of them.

I was just over at my friends house, and she gave me some chocolate candies to eat.

They tasted like normal chocolate, but after I ate a few she told me they were really laxative squares!

What should I do? What's gonna happen? I've never had this before??

I have a 2 year old daughter and a newborn daughter. I live one state and my step mom and my father live in another. My step mother keeps trying to control how I raise my children. We decided to go and visit them since my father kept asking. I live with my boyffriend and we both work and live in a house and are both still in school so don't even judge me. Anyway every outfit I pick out she says is "inappropriate and picks out something else. She tries to force us to come to church and says how I should start wearing skirts. I hardly ever wear skirts. She says we need to stop having sex because we are not married. I also just found out she wants to take custody of my children because I am a "sinner" and am an unfit mother. My daughter was wearing this cute shirt that said. "Angel when your looking other when your not" and she said it was unacceptable. She came into my house which is a three bedroom and 2 bathroom and said it was disgusting IT WAS SPOTLESS. How do I deal with this?

My 16 year old little sister has feel into the web of unwed mothers. Most of her friends have kids, or are pregnant right now. She got found out she was pregnant, and said she wanted to get an abortion. After talking to her friends( also teen mothers) She started referring to her boyfriend as her "baby dad", and her baby as her "seed" as if she were happy to be having a baby at such a young age. She is 16 and only in the 10th grade, so her future now will be even more of a challenge than when it was when she was just a kid living in the ghetto. Now shes a product of it. Why do these kids think its cute to have babies, when there isnt even anyone to take care of them?

My brother and I had a time to come home from playing at the neighbors. We were late and we were both grounded us for like a week. I never was late again even if it meant leaving him behind. He was late at least four if not more times. Each time my mother would increase the duration of the punishment and even made him do his and my chores. She even got him a watch. Nothing worked he would continue to be late. After the fifth time or so of being like 30min to hour late she spanked him. He was never late again. So how would you handle it.

During the punishment phase he was banned from Birth Day parities and all sorts of fun things for two months .

I have a 4 yo with special needs. Her attitude is horrendous, Itry to dicipline her but it makes her orse, but when I try to talk to her she wont listen. I ahve been having very, very bad thoughts about hurting her (none which I have acted upon). I feel the best thing would be to give her up for adoption, but then I would have to deal with my family. I am stressing out badly over this. She goes to Early Intervention Programs, I really feel like I would be better off without her in my life, Am I normal to feel this way? How do I maintain control ant still not hurt her? How do i get rid of the thoughts of hurting her. I know my life would be better without her. I can't give her to her dad....he refuses to even say she is his b/c of her name.HELP!

My son will be 3 July 8th and he has been abusive for several months..Nobody ever wants to play with him because they know if they do they are going to end up getting bit,, hair pulled, pinched, hit, kicked or have a toy thrown at them, I do not even want to play with him because of it.

It seems no matter where we go and no matter who he plays with and how big or small they are he abuses them. We took him to a cook out at my aunts and he was playing with my 7 year old cousin and the first like hour everything was fine but then he started hitting him , biting him and scratching him. My cousin who is 17 was kinda wasted and fooling around in our grandmothers wheelchair and he flipped back and hit the floor, my son jumped on him and started hitting him.

I can not deal with this anymore, everyday he is abusing someone and none of the kids in our family like playing with him because there afraid of him.

What can I do to make him stop attacking people?

My in law does not agree with the way I deal with things, please tell me what you would do :

When her children left school and got a job she was on there case the whole time about when they were coming home and when they will be eating.

I have a stepson who has left school, and works and I won't keep calling him about dinner etc.......I have said to him he knows what time I start cooking dinner, if he text me I will put a dinner aside for him if he does not I won't ........Unless its something I cook in bulk like sheperds pie etc

This is what my mum did with me, I was given my space, I ate when I was hungry and if I came in late she would shout there is a salad etc.....

All my mother in laws kids have been majorly over weight, where as I have never worried about weight (well not til I have had kids lol)

And I have quite relaxed views on food

Who is right?....................

The outhouses are usually gross... what do you do instead?

I know when I was young, my mom would wrap us in a towel for privacy and just let us do our little p℮℮ on the sand. That sure was easy! Do you suggest the same?

Hi,

My office is over an hours drive away and my daughter's childcare closes at 6. Sometimes I get to the place 10 or fifteen minutes away and want to hire a private babysitter.

In this case what's the reliable way of finding a good babysitter.

The ideal thing would be to find a teacher from the school who can pick up my daughter from school and babysit until I can pick her up.

Is it rude to ask the school if they know of any teacher who might be looking for babysitting work?

My husband tells her kissing on the lips is for married people who love each other. My MIL kisses her on the lips all the time. I feel it is ok between a parent and child. We have always kissed her on the cheek but she sees us kiss and now she will grab us by the face and pull us so she can try to kiss us on the lips. How should I handle this?
