Be who you are, hon. I like the answer above, about PFLAG. They are a good organization. For your part, I think a calm honest conversation is best - let them know that you love them, but that you need to share something about yourself with them. I hope that you get a positive response. If you do not, this is where help from PFLAG or similar organizations can help you direct them towards resources which can help you guys worth through it, and help them understand.

Be brave, and be proud of who you are. Good luck, and much love.

I have had many friends over the years have to deal with this same question. Straight up Honesty is ALWAYS the only way to go. The sooner you tell them, the more time they have to get used to it.Good luck!

If you are having a hard time figuring out what to say there are groups such as PFLAG(Parents and Friends of Lesbians & Gays) that can help you decide how and who to come out to. I sincerely wish you the best and dont think this is something you choose. Your parents may be shocked at first or have thought it for a while and use this as confirmation. Please dont let anyone think you are a horrible person for this.

Don't listen to all these people that ask you to choose not to be gay, please. They are obviously homophobic. Alright, sit them down and talk to them. Plain and simple. No matter what set THEM straight! They are the ones that have a problem with you being gay, not you. Maybe you need to start introducing them to your potential partners so they see, "Hey, I guess he really is gay." And, if they do try to set you up with a great single gal, tell her in front of them that YOU ARE GAY! Reality check for them. :) Hang in there.

If you go ahead and tell them now thay will have longer to get used to it. Honesty is the best way to go in this situation, my friend. Good luck, I hope your parents are the understanding kind.

Sit them down and tell them the truth. If you feel that they may not accept this, then make sure you have a back up place to stay, if by chance they kick you out (happened to my friend).

hmm...
tell them first that you love them and that you really want them to love you just as much. make sure you get their complete honest opinion because if you do these things the wrong way, they'll go cold turkey on you. i hope that your parents will accept you for who you are. although, i can understand why any parent would flip out. just try it out. you want them to be cool with it?, go for it. they're you're parents. if they do freak out, just try to kep talking to them. they might not get over it completely but it will surely happen gradually if you keep trying.
you can't go wrong standing up for what you believe in.

good luck.

You know your parents better than anyone. If they are going to "freak" when you tell them, then just politely say that you are not interested in dating right now and leave it at that. If they are understanding then just sit down and discuss it. I hope they are the understanding kind. :)
Good luck.

Tell them what you just told us... that should do the trick. Seriously though, you must tell them. They love you and I think they might accept you for who you are. If they don't then give them time. At least you'll be true to yourself. Good luck.

Well simply dont be gay. Like girls. I was once gay when I was like 12 but my mom told me it was sin so I converted. I am now 17 and engaged to a girl and have a 3 year old daughter.
