Like most parents of teenagers, i am concerned about my 15 yr old daughters internet use. We have talked to her many times about the dangers of the internet, but like most kids, she things we are over reacting. I want to monitor her myspace without her knowing. Is there any way at all to do this?

What is your opinion on allowing a 3 year old to jump on one of those large, circular outdoor trampolines unattended? There was no safety net on it. I've seen the ones that have a safety net around the outside perimeter of them and this didn't have that on it.
Also, are they against the law in any states?

Thanks!

Do you believe that parents can fully devote themselves to each child's needs or is it reasonable to admire their willingness to take in all of the kids?

I Live with my boyfriend, and have my kids the majority of the time, except for every other weekend, when their father has them. I have a 8 yr old girl, and a 2 year old boy.
what are some fun cheap things to do with them. Our daily routine has simply become "come home, make dinner, help with homework, bathe kids, put them to sleep, work out at the Y, take shower, go to sleep, and repeat this everyday........ weekends have become a little blander than I'd like them to be.
We take them to the park occasionaly, but it's been kinda cold.....what are some good activities to keep everyone stimulated? Thanks!

What do you think about a child who is a year old playing outside in the back yard with adult supervision?

Today I was outside trimming the hedges around our house. My son is a year old and it's really nice out where I live. I set up a blanket and let him just run around and play. We have a fenced back yard. A lady stopped by and asked how old he was and when I told her he was just a year old she seem shocked.

Is there some kind of problem letting a child who is able to walk play around and get a little dirty in a fenced yard with adult supervision on a nice sunny day? Personally, I feel kids don't get enough fun outdoor play these days.

OK I missed work last week with this flu, but it seemed like my son wouldn't get it. Now its Monday and he's sick. What do single parents do when they really need to get to work? I need the money, I already missed work. I asked my friend to watch him ,she works nights but she says she can't afford to get sick.

Why are parents so quick to blame things like MTV, video games, and TV in general for their children's lack of discipline? Yes, it is true that what is acceptable on TV now would never be allowed on "back in the day" but is that any excuse? I've run busineses for five years and I have witnessed thousands of parents let thousands of kids run wild. When I was a child, when I made a mess at a restaurant, we would not leave until I cleaned it up. When I was a child, I was not allowed to put my greasy hands all over glass, to play around with things that didn't belong to me, etc. These may seem like minor things, but why don't you parents realize that this is what molds your children for the future! Anyway, my question wasn't rhetorical. Really, parents of "bad children" why can't you blame yourself?

my son is very ill, he has been moving from place to place, he is a very good boy, but just like alot of other kids they get mixed up with the wrong people, he is gay and he also has hiv, he has been trying to get on socisl security for over a year, but with no results, the social security office told him, that he cannot get help from them unless he has full blown aids, I try as much as I can to help him with his financial needs, but I too am strapped for money. What I don't understand is why social security won't help him, why wait until he gets full blown aids, My son has been through so much, as a boy he was raped by my brothers friend, who was married with children of his own, and now he is back in circulation getting help from our government. I know that I am not the only parent that fills this way. I have lost my brother, my two nephews, and it is not a pretty picture to watch someone you love just fade away as if they have nothing to give to the world, my son has given alot back

A girl i know who at one time was a close friend is dating or married to someone who is abusive to her in front of the children. she has been in the hospital at least twice in the past year that i know of. She is also addicted to drugs, and what kinds i'm not sure of. I know that one is meth because of the rapid weight loss and increased age in her face within the time period of about 2 months.
The man which i do suspect her being married to, has been in the county jail several times, and state prision once that i know of for abuse, assualt, and several other charges.
Why in the world would anyone put their children in that situation? She was a good person at one point in time, now she isn't stable at all and hasn't been in a while, she is 28 and has been through at least 3 marriages since she was 20. is there anything i can do to help these kids?

Hi

I am a in home child care provider. I have a clean record and used to just happily give out my social if reluctant parents needed to do a background check, last year i was a victim of identity theft. Since then no one has asked to do a background check, i provide Credible references from familys who i work for and personal refrences and I have also done 2 interviews and invited them to my house....they are friends of a personal friend of mine as well, who also gave me a great refrence, howver they want a background check, so i told them i want to do one on them first to make sure they check out and have no criminal activity and then they can have my social and do one...
they are insulted and mad. any suggestions on how i can make them feel safe yet not worry that ten years from now that background check with my social is going to make it into the wrong hands?? Identity theft is not funa nd it almost ruined me the first time. please help??? this is my childcare business.

I'm still teaching her proper period "ettiquette" if you will, but in the mean time, my son is starting to ask questions because his sister leaves wrappers out, or other things that raise a red flag. How do I explain a period to an 8 yr old boy in simple matter of fact terms.

She just turned 1 and is an only child and is use to ALL of our attention. She is having a hard time at daycare and seems almost frightened to play with other kids. When she gets home she CLINGS to me for dear life (she only goes on thursdays and fridays) for a couple of days. Whats the best way to help her and me cope? I know its hard on her at day care but its hard for me to have a very clingy child when it comes to dinner. She doesnt even want to go to her dad. When I do put her down she will just throw a fit. Is that what I should do? Am I enabling her?

my husband is in the army and he got back from iraq about 6 months ago. he was gone for a year so i was the one taking care of our now 2 year old son. the problem is since he has been back he has tried to put our son to sleep once or twice but gave up because he wanted me to read his story and tuck him in. and i'm the one that is always doning everything for and with our son. i help him eat, get his dressed, give him his bath, and put him to sleep at nights. i just wish my husband was a little more willing to help out. we are about to have another baby in 5 months and i don't hink i can take care of both children and the house without any help.

Talking to different people the general consensus seems to be they are useless.

Saying things like no your baby isn't teething its just their mouth getting ready for solids.

Etc...

It seems they just regurtitate info they are given by the goverment and aren't in touch with real life!

I have had my dog for over 2 years. She is a Mini Schnauser. Well friday night she was sleeping on the sofa and my 2 year old jumped on her and scared her and my dog bit my daughter in the face. I am very upset about this and I don't know if I should get rid of my dog or keep her. She has never even come close to bitting either on of my children before. What would you do in this situation? Get rid of the dog or give it a second chance?
