My grandma tends to spoil and shower gifts to a lil girl of a family friend. What makes me mad is that she has 2 great grandchilden(my son and brothers son) who are angels. I think if shes gonna buy this lil girl all these gifts than she should buy gifts for her own real great grandkids. I dont think its fair. My grandma is constantly talking about this lil girl saying that she's her grandchild too. I just feel like telling her "Hey this lil girl is not related to us, u have real great grandchildren that u need to be talking about. I just thinking about not taking my son over there if he's always gonna come 2nd.Hell no. What do U think???

Ok, my best friend is 24 and her child is now 8 months old. Last month we decided we needed a "girls night" and when she came home she was in a HUGE fight with her boyfriend. He says she chose to have a family and that is where she should be at ALL times. Her parents agree with this and basically flipped out on her when she told them she had plans for a girls night this weekend. They all seem to believe she gave up her LIFE. Her boyfriend agreed to let her go after they had the huge last fight but he says will not be happy about it. Help please I gotta know is this what everyone believes? I am a mother of two and I see absolutely no problem with this and my boyfriend doesnt mind me going out. Mothers need time to relax and breathe, what good is a cranky stressed out mom ya know? Whats wrong with a couple drinks and a pack of girls having their girl-talk? BTW She encourages him to do the same but he just gives her a guilt trip and says he'd rather be with his family. What do u think?

If I marry my fiance will I ahve to help pay support for his child from another woman...if this is the case I won't marry him b/c I did not concieve this child and have my own so my money should go to her not some other womans kid.

we don't even get to see her...but maybe once every 6 months. I would be willing to buy he clothes and all of her needs while she is at my home, but i dont feel i should have to give up my money so she can take trips and buy clothes for herslef which is what she does with his money now because we saw her once and she told us she wears her mothers hand me downs and shes always alone...we'd like custody..id b willing to pay fro her if she lived with us...but i am not financing someone elses fun. It's not that I wouldn't take care of her just not when shes not with me...if shes with me I know my money is going towars things for her...got it

I am 17 and I live in a VERRY VERRY small town. The unemployment rate is almost at the highest it has ever been and because of my age I am not allowed to do most jobs that are open in town. I will NEVER go back to fast food. I am by far to good for that. Also the fast food managers in this town are nasty and mean. I worked at Wendy’s for 9 months, most people last 4 weeks because the management is so bad. And from what every one has told me the only other place in town (McDonalds) is worse. But here is my problem I need at least $1,250 by this summer, and I need $550 by the first of June. I was accepted into a program a Christian camp that cost $750 just to go, and I have another program in 4-H that costs $250 and I need spending money to wash clothes and by food in between. Both programs are around the same time this summer (I have like 2 days in-between). I need to know what I can do for money and fund raising because my family is very poor and I can't drive yet, dad's rules.
HELP!

We have a 10 month old girl. My husband works 8 hrs. a day, 5 days a week. I stay at home. When he's at home, a lot of times I can tell that our daughter wants to play with her daddy. But he only wants to sit infront of the t.v. and doesn't really spend time with her, except for about 10-15 min. that he watches her when I'm taking a shower.
I don't want him to get upset with me, I don't want him to think that I don't care that he's tired from working, but I do think that he needs to bond with the baby... she looked so sad (and cried) the other day cause she was trying to climb on his lap and he just grabbed her and put her down on the floor away from him... I'm not trying to "bad mouth" him, but I have no one to talk to and that's why I seek advice from you guys... How can I talk to him about this? What should I tell him to make him see that the baby just wants her daddy's attention sometimes?...
Thank you very much for reading my long question!

Why do parents tell their kids no, then turn around and get them what ever it was that they said no on. I don't understand this. When I tell my children NO that is what I mean.

2007-03-05 14:23:59 · 19 answers · asked by Mary 1

like how they take care of their kids, pacifiers after age 1, bottles after 1, etc. My bigest ones most days is that some kids don't respect their parents and parents that don't give their children every chance they have to be the best.

I just asked a question not too long ago about my 16 month old and how to better prepare him for his first night in a toddler bed ( he is more than ready for this so there is no need to tell me to wait) I mentioned that my son has a t.v DVD player and a VCR in his room and I got a few rather rude replies on the fact that I allow a t.v in his room and how I was being negligent blah blah.
Do you parents think that me having a t.v in my son's room that he only watches at night. Please keep in mind that he has a vast variety of Disney, baby Einstein, and Baby Genius DVD's and VHS's that is why we have both in there. THERE IS NO CABLE WHAT SO EVER IN THERE so he can only watch what I put on for him and that is it. He only watches t.v at night when he is put down to bed to help mellow him out a bit same with the nap ( he only gets 1 a day) other than that that is the only time other than when we are using his V-Tech baby, I don't just let him watch t.v or use a t.v as a babysitter

My daughter just turned 9 less than a month ago. She has always been a picky eater, she is about 4'6" and weighs about 60 lbs. Lately she talks about being "fat" and about the beginning of January she started to use excuses to get out of eating with the rest of the family. In mid-February we took her out to a fancy restaurant for her birthday. She ate about 1/2 of her kids meal, and said she had to go to the bathroom. Since I could see it from where we were sitting, I let her go alone. My mother-in-law went in a few minutes later and caught her putting her finger down her throat to make herself vomit. She has lost about 10 lbs over the last three months, I know this is not excessive, but she doesn't have any extra to lose. Could this be the start of anorexia, or could it just be a phase? Does anyone have any ideas to help?

An 8 year old girl breaks her arm riding her bike. The mom doesn't necessarily know it's broken, but the girl is obviously not using her arm. It's just hanging limp and she's using her left hand to do everything even though she's right handed. The mom doesn't take her to the doctor until two weeks later and the X-rays show it is broken and she has to have a cast. Is there something wrong with this? Is this neglect? Thanks!

Gross question - I'm sorry. My 3 year old son threw up ALL over his bed about 2 hours ago - he is fine - I think it may be something he ate. Anyway, his mattress stinks! Anyone have any remedies to get the smell out?

BTW - I asked this in the parenting section because I know there are plenty of parents who have been through this - lol. Thanks for your help!!

Whenever I try to discipline my 2 year old son he ignores me. The more I try to get his attention, the more he trys to ignore me. I try to hold his chin but he just looks up and around. I am trying to do the right thing and tell him what he is doing wrong or what he is doing that is dangerous instead off just yelling at him, smacking him or sending him to sit in the corner when he doesn't know what is going on but he is not giving me much of an option. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm with my kids ALL the time. My son goes to school, but I have 2 others that go everywhere with me, even to work, I drive a bus. I love it most of the time, but sometimes I just need a break, but there isn't a lot of time, anyone else feel this way? What's your favorite remedy?

Would the world have been better off if say this teacher had spent time as a lap dancer, or say liked swinger clubs or had smokes a little dope when in uni. Liked backpacker clubs and wet t shirt competions. Had pulled another teacher and was publically affectionate. Never wore a suit, never behaved appropaitely

And maybe a lesbian as well.

To all the mothers or fathers of two or more children, is it difficult? I have a 3 year old son and I recently gave birth to a little girl a week ago and I feel like my life is over (I'm only 21) and I feel like it's going to be very difficult raising two kids. Is this a normal feeling after the birth of a second child. Will this feeling go away?

I am considering opening a small children's clothing boutique.... I need some suggestions as to what to name it. I plan on carrying baby/kids apparel, shoes, and specialty items. It will be located in a small rural community. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
