Tomorrow i have to get a suppository (medical procedure..2 of them!!) for the first time and i'm 15.. I hear it's where they push a pill up your butt but that's all i know. does it hurt a lot? do i have to take off my clothes?

i'm embarassed about it a lot. do i have to stand up or what do i do? what if i make my cheeks tight together or try to so they cant put it in? what if they put it in and i push it out?

does it make me go to the bathroom the same way or diffferent and longer?

A suppository is medication that is in a coated capsule that's inserted in the rectum. They are generally made with glycerin as their base, so they go in very easily and don't hurt at all (at least not in my experience). Since your rectum is lined with mucous membrane, substances such as mediation can pass through it relatively easily.

I know it's not the most fun idea in the world, but it's a lot better than a shot or getting an I.V. line put in! The doctor/nurse may insert it for you, or they may give it you to insert in private. If they DO insert it for you, it will be about the millionth backside they've seen, and yours won't look any different, so don't worry about THAT part. You can probably lie down or stand up, whichever works best for you. You shouldn't have to undress completely (although if you're going in for a procedure, they may simply have you put on a hospital gown - drafty, but servicable).

If you push it back out, they're just going to have to do it again, and if you KEEP doing it, chances are good they'll put in an IV line; on the whole, I'd certainly opt for the suppository, as it's over in about 10 seconds flat.

You may notice a bit of residue from the suppository the next time you go to the bathroom, but that's to be expected, and is not anything that you need to be concerned with.

Hang in there - you can do it!

It is not so bad. You will have to take off your clothes (at least the bottom half) but you will more than likely get a gown to cover up with. You will probably lie on your side, you will feel some pressure, and that is it.
It should make you go to the bathroom pretty much all at once. But not immediately.
the most important thing I can tell you is to RELAX while they are doing it......

Nope, just shove the little bugger up there. Nothing to worry about. No pain, nothing. You won't even notice it.
