My husband and I both work full-time because we have to, financially (and no we don't have any xtras, just house, 1 car payment and utilities. no cable or cell phones either). I would love nothing more than to stay home with my daughter to guide her and raise her, instead of putting her in daycare all day. For the year and a half that she has been in daycare, she's been constantly sick - she gets over one thing, she picks up some other sickness there. I feel soooooo guilty about this. I mean, just as a general consensus from the moms out there, is it bad to have your kids in daycare? I think that if you have to, then you have to (like my husband and I do), some people don't have a choice - it's eitehr that or loose your home and go hungry, you know? Any suggestions for making things work? I'd like to mention again, we don't spend $ on any extras, we don't even go out! I just want to hear what you think on this topic and if you have any suggestions as to how to make it work.

Me and my husband got in to a big fight last night, my son is about 1 and he still every once in a while will wake in the middle of the night and want Momma so I will go in there with him, and change him, then put him back to bed sometime I will bring him back to bed with me.Well last night he was alseep at 830 and put him in bed to sleep, and he woke up so I left him in there to cry for a minute but it got louder and louder, My husband went in there and was yelling at him to be quiet, and stop that screaming, I went in there and was wanting to get my son and hold him maybe even just lay on the couch with him, but he would not let me get him out of the crib, well I wouldnt leave the room so he started to get really mad and was yelling at me to get out of here... so bad that he grabed my shirt threw me on the bed and was in my face yelling to listen to him..What should I do?? I hate the way that he is with my son My husband calls him a spolied mommmas boy, but he is not always like this.

What sort of subcultures would you be ok for your kids to be part of?

And would you pretend to hate it to encourage them or be all relaxed.

ie think things like piecings, coloured , deadlocked hair and other 'tribla' elements plus music and common culture elements.

Ie I would be very happy for them to be part of rock music type scenes ie skatepunk, goth, emo, nu-metal, maybe with a little hip hop (but not the nasty stuff) through in.

Also if into psi trace and hippy rave (little worried about extra risk with things like possible ecstasy use and psycedelics but kid would have been very educated in drugs to minimise this)

Or hippy types

Being gay/lesbian whilst a bit gutted no lads chatting about girls talks or grand kids but cool.

Or if they were into wicca and pagan stuff.

More worried and hip hop... ok if just the break dance side of it and avoided gangsta street culture clubs like the plague.

My son is 10. The mice have been sick for quite a while with mange-mites. We had the mice to the vet, who prescribed medication for them, which didn't help. The only thing left was to have the mice destroyed. I have to pick my son up from school in an hour. How should I tell him?

My fiance and I got custody of his 3- year old son back in july. We have not had many problems with him other than the normal 3-yr old behavior. After returning home from a weekend at his mothers house he has become very short tempered, hateful, (mainly towards me) and angry. His dad works overnites and he has started saying, " I don't like staying with you " and crying. He has been rolling his eyes, laughing and ignoring me when I tell him to, pick up his toys, or any other thing I ask of him. This evening his dad played the sad card saying that I was sad that he wasn't being "nice" and he said he didn't care that I was sad. Then when asked if he would care if daddy was sad he said yes and then gave his daddy a hug. (I wasn't around when this was done). Then my mom played the same card and he said the same thing to her but in front of me. He also told her that he wouldn't care if she was sad either. I'm just lost and don't know what to do, and advice would help ALOT! Thanks.....

I am 6’3” and my wife is 5’9 so we are tall and our daughter takes after us. As a result she looks older than she is. She also has been developing really quickly like sitting up unsupported at 4 months neck control at two months etc. The problem is people look at her and say things like why do you still have bottle. She is 8 months not a year yet and she is using sipy cups for most meals. Or look at you are so cute your parents should let you walk around. Again not walking yet not even a year. Does anyone have this problem with there kids. We also have people say things unrelated to her size. Like you don’t look warm enough sweety

My daughter is 9 and hasn't asked anything yet, but I don't want to wait and have her learn something that isn't correct from her friends. Is she too young to have "the talk"?

Do you think that if some parents where better educated on sex or not shy to talk to their children about the cause and effect of having sex that there would be a significantly lower amount of pregnant teenagers? This is not a teen mother bashing question it is just a question out of curiosity. From the amount of questions I have read from what appears to be adults asking simple questions such as can I get pregnant two days after or before my period and so on it makes me wonder if some of our parent's were better educated about sex and they passed this on to their children that here would be a drop in teen aged pregnancy's. I know my mother was really open with me about things but never went into detail about the fact that you could get pregnant at any time of the month TECHNICALLY Seeing as women ovulate at different times then perhaps I wouldn't have gotten pregnant at 19. I don't regret getting pregnant with my son because he is a blessing to me. I just want to hear from others

I'm being treated by the best doctor, her beauty is very distracting, Dr. Miller, haven't seen her for a while, problem, I keep dreaming, its coming back big time, she spent so much time with me, I was just a lousy corpsman, I think, I don't know....No body said one way or the other. I can see it and I can hear it...I think. Did you ever hang on to a Marine till his last breath???? Maybe, just your opinion, do I deserve this????

He's 10wks old and we've moved from Texas(very humid) to Montana(very dry). Now his scalp is dry, and flakey. Not like the way cradle cap is described, it's not yellow and thick, just the normal flakey scalp, and he does have some hair too!!! I've tried lotion but that just makes his hair greasy and doesn't seem to help much! Thanks!!!!
