The majority of Charities Do NOT want your used stuffed animals. They waste space, money, and time sorting them out for staff. I volunteer locally and this is a problem at our local resale. We get several trash bags full every week. It is a giant PITB.
The best thing to do is give them away to other children you know. If you have a yard sale you can put them in a free pile. You can offer on freecycle.

I would say either donate them to either Toys for Tots (or similer charity) or a Childrens Hospital, as many have a large need for toys to make the kids more comfortable.

If some are in a little worse condition, you can always contact your local animal shelter too. Often times, they will take some that have been used to give to animals for comfort. Just an idea :)

when i was young i can a HUGE stuffed animal collection. that was my thing. i had hundreds of them. well when i got my own house my mom didn't want them in her house anymore. and I no longer had a need for that many (i kept a few) but i bagged them up and gave them to Good-will. I figure it is for a good cause maybe it would help some one else out. You know?

im not sure if charities will take them, but yahoo has a group called freecycle where you give away stuff rather than throwing it away. the good thing is, whoever you give it to will pick it up from your house so no work is involved on your part. just go to yahoo groups and type in the city you live in and freecycle.

You can donate your stuffed animals, toys and clothes at Local thrift shops or churches. Some churches have programs for the needy. Call and ask around. Also ask local welfare branch for alternatives as well

You could donate them to a charity for under privileged children.

Why don`t you donate them? You could drop them off at a charity..or shelter, or you could have a yard sale and donate the money.

You could donate them to the local hospital or thrift store. Or better yet, let your children bring them to sick children in the hospital themselves, it would be a great learning experience, and who knows, they may choose to volunteer later. Or you could use them as decorations and if they are small enough Christmas tree ornaments...

You could contact your local Operation Support Our Troops Chapter. (You should be able to find it online) The troops hand them out to children overseas and an act of goodwill, and get a very welcoming, positive result.
