I am a Christian, and I would highly recommend that you investigate the claims of Christ in your search. He claimed to be the Son of God, so you should read the New Testament part of the Christian bible to see what his claims are. Even non-Christians consider Christ to be the highest teacher/leader, so I think you would do well to start there. If you decide to become his disciple, then you can lead your son that direction. You can't very well bring up your son in something that you don't believe in yourself, because that would be dishonest.

Culture is a difficult part of your question. I live in the west, but there is much about western culture that is not good. We try to structure our home along biblical principles, and often go against our culture. In some ways, eastern culture, with its respect and honor, is to be admired.

As Christians, we are taught to be "in the world, but not OF the world." meaning that we don't follow the world's values. I hope you can find the values that are highest and lead your son in that direction.

It's wonderful that you care enough to ask for help. Your little son is blessed to have a caring parent!

Raise your son to be compassionate and loving and not to conform to pressure from society to be materialistic and outwardly perfect.

Stress the importance of love and giving but also wise enough to know when to stand up for his beliefs.

Sounds like you are still searching yourself. I find myself mixing Eastern with Western culture. I take the good out of each and leave out the things I find harmful.

Good luck!

Wow, what a question. I am a Christian and would say that the only way is to believe in Jesus Christ! That is how I am raising my children. But you have your beliefs and you should raise your child your way. It is always good to know where you come from, your roots, your families beliefs....And when they become adults we as parents have to trust that they will make the right decisions with their life's. Good luck and May God Bless you and your family!

Raise him with love and understanding of all cultures. Try to find a religion that you feel comfortable in and share that time with your son.

Introduce your son to your culture and a number of others. That way when he grows up he can choose the one he is most comfortable with. Don`t leave your son with the doubts you have.

Teach him what you believe is right. teach him your own, teach him to be critical, and while you're doing so, never let him forget his roots.
