I have been a mom for 27 years. I have 4 kids who are now 27, 25, 22, and 9. I was a stay-at-home by choice. Quite by accident, I began watching children in my home. I enjoyed it and became a licensed in-home child care provider. I have done that for 20 years now and still love doing it. It is not a job for everyone, but it has worked out well for me and my family. I only provide care in my home on a part-time basis and always have at least one full day without daycare children so I can just be "mom" when I volunteer at my daughter's school, do errands, and take a little time for myself.

I currently am a carpenter/handyman, have a home office, but not home when working, other than paperwork, quoting, etc.
Previous job was a sales rep, again had home office, but traveled a lot and worked 60 to 80 hours per week (most of those not at home). Wife and I have tried answering those ads for at home work, never had luck with those, just a scam.
Am college educated and worked for two large corporations at jobs a lot of people here did envy, and I was miserable. Now I am doing the same thing I did while in college, only own a home and I call the shots. Was able to got business going without borrowing. Being smart with your money is the key.
I know a few people that are able to work from home. Most had to put in a few years or more on the job first, though. I am much happier in spite of less income.
Good Luck, hope it happens for you, too.

I just had twins, that makes four kids. (all under age of 4) I can't really afford to pay childcare for all, but I wanted to stay at home anyways. I thought about selling Avon once, but changed my mind. You could look into Avon, Mary Kay, Home Interior, Pampered Chef, etc... Finally, my husband & I decided to open an all you can eat buffet style catfish restaurant. We open this
Friday & are only gonna be open on Fri & Sat for now, my husband has full time job. I can afford to pay a friend to watch my kids for a few hours twice a wk. It will get me out of the house a little so I don't go completely crazy. There are some jobs that the
internet offers, but watch out for scams. Also, are you artistically
creative or can sew? You can make crafts or clothes & sell them at local flea markets or trade days!

Hi – I sell on eBay. It works for me. I profit about $3,500 a month and only work about 6 hours a day, from home, on the schedule I choose. You can start by selling things you already have and it will only cost a few dollars for listing fees. I am a stay at home mom, too, and have been doing this for 4 years. It is fun and profitable.
I find items at second hand stores, garage sales, clearance sales, and members clubs to resell on eBay. Some of the items are used, some are new. I know people who sell services like web design or graphic design. Other people sell handmade items like jewelry, customized baby items, or craft items. There are many ways to earn a living on ebay, either part-time or full-time.

At home mom of 2 kids under age 3...haven't gone back to work, but I'm looking into being an independent wine consultant. Kind of like Mary Kay or Pampered Chef, but with wine. The great thing is that I can work when I want and have events on evenings/weekends so their dad will be home with them.

I don't work I just keep the house clean and watch my two children, but if you are looking for a job Just post a sign in your local town for you to be a babysitter, but you have to make it cheap for people to come to you instead of a daycare. Like $15.00 a day per child- the money will add up at the end of the week. Maybe for families of 2 make them a deal. Hope this was a good idea for you.

I tried going back to work outside the home- but I couldn't find affordable daycare for my kids. I am now doing daycare out of my home. I am now making close to $2000.00CAD /month for looking after 2 kids full time and 2 after school. And I get a lot of tax write offs and I am home with my kids. I don't love it but it helps for a few more years until all my kids are in school.

I sell Mary Kay. I get to hold play date for both me and my daughters. It is a fun way to make money and helps me keep my sanity. It's nice to be someone besides Mom.
