I can only tell you what worked for me with my own kids.... I established a routine and really stuck to it. I bathed them at the same time each night, put their jammies on, turned on a little night light in their room and turned on music. It was very soft music (soothing) and I would hold them for a few minutes and hum softly in their ear and gently lay them down, tell them it was night night time and kissed their little cheek and softly left the room. It usually worked. Of course, there were nights they were not feeling well or did not want to lay down, but it was usually a very good routine! And GOOD FOR YOU getting rid of the bottle and pacifier! the longer you wait to get rid of it, the harder it is!!!!

I can't understand why you would get rid of the Binky at this age. I let mine have it until they were about 3 and then when they wore one out or lost it, that was the end. I've had some comments on it before but I figure if it makes the kid and the mama happy, who is it hurting. I didn't let them have it any time but bed time but I guess I was just a selfish mom. I wanted some peace and to be able to sleep. Their teeth did not suffer from it at all. Good Luck and God Bless

I would just do one adjustment at a time. The bottle first. Once that is taken care of then work on the binky. I know it sounds hard but I had to let mine cry. The first night I let her cry till she went to sleep. The next night it took a little less time. In less than 2 weeks she was going to bed right away.

They will usually cry themselves to sleep the first couple nights, just make sure they have a full belly and clean diaper.
You might want to rock them to sleep. You really shouldn't take away both of them at once though.
Wait till next year for the bottle to go, or the pacifier, because its easier to get rid of the binky than the bottle.
Good luck

My daughter is only 6mo but doesn't take a bottle or Binky to get to sleep. We do have one of those light show things that plays music and puts a light show on the ceiling. She seems to like it but to honest with you most nights we just put her in there and give her 5min of crying. 9 times out of 10 she is sleeping when we go to check on her. It works for us. Hope this helps.

My baby is 19 months old and sometimes she still needs a bottle and she always needs her bink. I just give her water in her bottle so she doesnt get tooth decay from the milk (milk sits on the teeth overnight and can lead to tooth decay). Ive been trying to get her off the bottle but sometimes its the only way shell go to sleep. I asked my mom about it and she said as long as she only needs it at night its ok and shell probly give it up on her own after a while. She has 3 kids-we were all on the bottle until we were 2 and we all turned out fine. And my friends kid had his bink until he was 2-hes fine too.

Normally i am on the stricter side but age one is too young for no bottle or binki.
None of my 4 cared for the binki, but the bottle did them no harm, and i guess brought them comfort, my daughter got a job as a dental asst, just because he was impressed with her teeth. My son gets compliments almost weekly becasse of his pearly whites-
Let the baby have her bottle, its the most normal thing in the world, geesh let her enjoy her babyhood, give it 6 more months.

Well, I'm only pregnant wioth my first child, but I have taken care of my sister's kids. If you cut off pacifier and bottle, then try rubbing thier tummy after a bath, or you can try holding her in your arms and singing a lullaby, or maybe even a story. You can put one of those Electronic things that thye light up and there's like fish sounds, or sounds of the ocean. If none of those work then you should go straight back on the bottle, and rub their tummy after a nice drink of warm milk! If these don't work ask your mom or a doctor! Good Luck hun!

we always did the warm bath then put their jammies on then wrapped them up in a blanket and rocked them then put them to bed.it maybe hard at first but he will soon settle into the new routine.i took the bottle away at 11mos and he NEVER sucks his thumb once babies start getting teeth a bottle or binky can cause decay on teeth faster than with out.also sometimes soft soothing music helps as well
