According to my friend in order to spank your kids in oregon, you had to take parenting classes. upon graduation you would be given something called a cats paw made out of rubber and that is the only thing you are allowed to use to spank your children. anyone know if it is true?

To try and keep a long story short: I have a 9yr old step daughter who splits her time 50/50 between our house and her mom's house. Sunday, she was at our house during the day and mom text messaged dad about a BD party for a terminally ill girl that was to happen in 1 hour. Because of the nature of the party, I went out of my way to get a gift and drive about 30 minutes to go to the party that my step daughter said she really wanted to go to. Throughout all of this, I had my 2yr old daughter with me because my husband had work to do.
We arrived at the party only 15 minutes late and the whole thing was very disorganized but I tried to do my best to make it work. On the drive over, my step daughter said that she met this girl only once but liked her and said she was very nice. When we got to the party, my SD didn't want to play with her- she only wanted to play arcade games on her own. During all this, my 2yr old started getting fussy and the BD girl's parents decided to do...

Why do parents reward their kids for doing what's expected of them? Doesn't it send a bad message: it's only worth doing if you get a reward?
Why do so many parents bribe their children rather than teach them and hold them to certain standards? Are we really that lazy?

When I was about 15 I was getting into trouble, mostly with boys. I was having sex and I had about 5 partners. I was brought up kind of strict. Well one night I had two friends stay over. We decided to call our guy friends and see what was up. Well those guys decided to show up at my house late that night. When they did my ex boyfriend came and was trying to get back with me. We ended up having sex in my room while my parents were asleep. While me and my bf were doing that my friend and this guy came in and started doing the same on the floor. My boyfriend ended up staying the night(which he had done before without my parents knowing) and needless to say we got caught having sex on my closet floor by my mother. She just closed the door and I ran away. I came back later that day and she hit me and my dad wouldnt talk to me. After that I went to stay with my sister for a few days. I went home eventually and my mom asked me a lot of selfish questions.
Dont answer yet Im adding more!!!

I don't know about the other nanny's, but I think Supernanny, Jo Frost does not have any children, and she's really good at what she does. Or do maybe the kids just behave until the end of the show. lol

......lemme see...Do you find it easier to forgive your kids if they straight up confess about something, or would you rather find out later on your own?

i.e. : your 16yr has five tattoos that you're completly unaware of.

Being totally HONEST, what you you consider for consequences?

Or, would you even punish her for coming clean about it on her own??

Help please

Yesterday, the temperature here in N.C. was in the low 70's and winds were about 15 miles per hour. We are still having cold weather every other day. And it is still WINTER! Would you let your child go outside in their bathing suits and play with the water hose? Would you let your child get wet knowing that at the end of the week, the high is going to be 50 degrees? My husbands ex-wife did. Today, the youngest came home early from school with a sore throat and stuffy head. Hmmm . . . wonder why? The ex thinks we are crazy and that she know what she is doing. Everyone we've tell that story to says the same thing - "Are you serious?" What do you think?

Ie most of mine and attiudes are based around the facts of what pretty much all those I knew growing up did, and their parents and how unrealistic said parents view of the world was.

Ie they all thought their little darlings never dis lots of things I saw them do.

Then I saw what hurt them and what didnt and base most posts here on that.

its not due to some pervey crap.

I dont operate on normal, strange, oh somone thinks this so must be pervery or right or moral or immoral.

Just on whether I see actions hurt people or make them happy.

Why is that seen as wrong.?

Ie if I see a particalar relationship make peoplehappy I think that cant be abusive eveyone must be lying as they are all happy togther.

Ie say a 15 year old and an 18 year old if they seem happy together I think cool. Happy mates.

Now none of those I hung out w
Whilst if I see organisations everyone think are moral hurting people I regard that as abusive and hurtful.

Ie the church.

Ever wonder how many convicted sex offenders live in your neighborhood? Go to www.familywatchdog.us and type in your address. The site will show you a map with every convicted sex offender in your area. With this information you can keep your children away from these sick predators and gain community attention to the matter and get him kicked out of your neighborhood.

My husband and I have recently moved and I'm staying with my in-laws until he's done with training for a new job. We've been here (me and my 11wk old) for about 2 weeks, and for the last 3days he's been unusually fussy. He's usually fine when he gets up in the morning then he has crying episodes for the rest of the day. Could it have something to do with him sensing my stress? or should I take him to the doctors? He has no other symptoms, no fever or change in pee or poop? I don't know what it is and its hard to watch him cry like that and not know what to do about it? Anyone have any advice. 1st baby!!!!
