My son was premature so he isn't walking yet, and I need help planning a party that won't be a total bust. At a house, if the weather turns cold, what can we do indoors with a bunch of tiny tots?

Keep it at home. For a theme get the 1st birthday theme from the store (you can only use it once!) or you could go with a favorite character of his. Then do some easy food, like a veggie tray, fruit platter, chips/pretzels, and a meat and cheese tray. Don't forget a cake your little one can dig into, that is the best part!! You can get one from the grocery store bakery they will usually give a free one for the first birthday, but I made my daughters' cakes (I think it is more special this way, and my mom did it for us kids when we were growing up, she let us pick whatever kind of cake we wanted, and I have decided to do that with my girls). Do presents too, it is fun to have your little one open them, but of course you will have to help. My girls were also not walking then either, but we just had a get together of friends and family and had them 'mingle' did not really plan any activities as you only want the party to be 2 hours at the most, your little one will get tired. So with the arriving of guests, the food, the cake, and presents, it took up our whole time.

What we did for my son's 1st bday was a clown theme, course his bday is near Halloween...lol. One of his best friends had a Hot Wheel theme. Another had a circus theme. Keep things simple. Remember they are too little to get into many games. One they can do that we used was a sorta take on pin the tail on the donkey. We used velcro on the pieces. For my son's party it was put the nose on the clown. For the Hot Wheels it was put the wheel on the car. For the circus it was put the hat on the ring master. The kids get a kick out of it and you never know where they will place the piece. We didn't blindfold them, just let them one at a time have a chance. Each person got a little prize. We also did a small cake for my son, then cupcakes for everyone else. Saves on mess, and each child gets his own "cake" to dig into. These are things that can be done inside or out. We also made goodie bags. For the clown party, they got animal crackers, a noise maker, and the town where we lived had a Big Boy's so we got gift certificates, the ones they sell during the holidays, and put in there. For the Hot Wheel party, we got safe little cars, a horn, and some fruit snacks. The circus party, bubbles, little animal figurines, and animal crackers. As long as you keep things simple, think of games they have for little ones, they'll have a good time. Keep the time limited, remember little ones get tired and bored quickly. Another game we played at all of them was to take cardboard and make big hoops, and use rubber balls to toss at them. Again if they tried, a small prize was given. The cost doesn't have be outrageous either. Hope this helps. My other two are girls..lol don't think their parties would help.

i might purely pass to walmart, and as a replace of a character subject, do exactly a coloration.. (like blue, or green...) and then get a cake of an identical coloration and have them placed happy 1rst Birthday... and get plastic cups and silverware, and etc.. Do the social gathering after the toddler's nap... if he sleeps from a million-3 then have the social gathering at 4... Do you rather might desire to ask 25 human beings??? With my sons first birthday I invited our mothers and dads, and brothers and sisters.... yet having pronounced which you have a brilliant kinfolk, so if so, i might pass in direction of the park to... possibly have it in a pavilion, pondering how warm and depressing that's going to be.. (my sons b-day is the tip of June) and in line with danger pass to a park that has a swimming pool so the bigger young infants can play... I had my sons b-day social gathering at our domicile, and set up a kiddie pool, and we frolicked outdoors.. We set up some chairs, and umbrellas, and a table for the cake and stuff.. anybody performed outdoors, on the back patio, and while it got here time for the cake, we further it outdoors to diminish it... so a techniques as entertainment is in touch.. have some toys and playpen to your son.. and in line with danger get some video games to play for the older young infants.. (convey a ball to throw around and another issues.. for outdoors play) yet somewhat, your son isn't gonna be too in touch this time around... i might additionally shop the social gathering to and hour, hour and a 0.5 on the main... permit the travelers arrive, and once you're waiting, the infants can play as anybody get there, then as quickly as maximum anybody is there, decrease the cake, and pass to, then while cake is purely about eaten, open the presents.... Then while that's accomplished, initiate cleansing up, and by making use of that element, quite some the concentrated visitor shoudl be leaving.... enable them to be happy to pass to with one yet another and stuff, yet do no longer sense obligated to stay around... youneed to maintain the toddler cool, and get him interior as quickly as you are able to... it somewhat is purely too warm, to be internet hosting an outdoors social gathering.. no longer except that's later interior the night, yet that isn't generally an determination... good success although, and take quite some %.!!!

Is the child going to remember this? OR is the party for the adults, like it usually is.

1st birthdays should be spent with family.

1st birthday parties are silly, certainly they are not for the kids. They are for the grownups to celebrate this great milestone. Kids this young do not and cannot interact with each other in any meaningful way. You cannot have activities that the tots will be into or care about.

I think the curious george theme is adorable. My son absolutely loves him, and you can find this stuff anywhere nearly. You could decorate in this and a jungle time theme. Trust me, I did and it came out soo cute.
