According to my friend in order to spank your kids in oregon, you had to take parenting classes. upon graduation you would be given something called a cats paw made out of rubber and that is the only thing you are allowed to use to spank your children. anyone know if it is true?

Accoding to my friend who has lived there 40 years that is not true.Just called him and asked.He is a social worker and also works in a detention home part time with teens.

Ik this post is really old but I'm not from Oregon I live in Illinois. My parents took a parent class and received a rubber spanking tool at the end of the class it was called a cat's paw. This was in the 90's

Well I live in Oregon and I have lived here since I was 3 and that is not true, you are not allowed to spank your children. and I do have two children.I think your friend might of been paing a joke on you or someone was to them.

I think the entire population of Oregon knows whether or not it's true. Like- NOT!
If spanking is such a controversial subject nowadays, what government would hand out spankig implements?
The one that wanted to get sued!

I live in Oregon right now. I'm 24, just graduated college.
I've never heard of this and am pretty sure it's not true.
If it is true then it is not commonly known or practiced.

I BELIEVE YOUR FRIEND IS LAUGHING RIGHT NOW. DON'T FEEL BAD, I'VE FALLEN FOR MUCH WORSE. LIKE WHEN I WAS 7 AND MY UNCLE TOLD ME THE REASON OUR DOG WAS DIGGING IN THE YARD WAS BC HE SMELLED TREASURE. SO I GOT OUT THERE AND STARTED DIGGING TOO. TURNS OUT MY UNCLE HAD SHOVED LITTLE DOG TREATS IN THE GROUND EVERY COUPLE OF FEET....BUT WE GREW THE BEST TOMATOES IN OUR NEW VEGGIE GARDEN....=)
