i don't get to spend time with my parents because they're mostly working.and when they're not they're sleeping because they're tired from working. i don't bother to complain because i understand that they have to work to pay the bills etc.

How can people consider themself educated or having a clue about things unless they check links in posts?

The purpose of links in posts is to act as evidence,
show where people are comming from,
Show why people think the way they do,
change the way people think
Show the reality of things
To back up what they are saying.

Or show up organisations people may think are all moral and the basis of their thinking as to what they really are about.

So how can people say oh we are not checking links and think they have a right to an opinion without checking all the evidence?

Is thet not total ignorance or judging people without haveing a clue what they are are talking about.

Like in posts below many thought they shouls not check all the links so how are they supposed to know what they are no about or feel educated?

Likewise when they make decsions that affect others. How do they make the right ones.

The argument is as follows: people have kids principally to validate their own self worth. That's why the majority of people who have other ways of making themselves feel good - either through having an important or interesting job, or who have a lot of money or freedom - tend to have fewer kids. People who don't have these things can get the same kind of feeling from the status of being a parent, and from the love they get from their kids when they are young.

Please note: I'm not saying I agree with it - I was just interested in what other people thought.

I'm a step-father and my wife is pregnant. I want to have my child birth date tattooed on me, but not my step childs. Is that wrong? Is that showing favoritism? I love my step-child, but I didn't know her when she was born.

My step-mother in law only had one child, and she only took care of him until he was 3 then she moved out here (her choice) and didn't start to take care of her son again until he was 17. I have two children 29 months and 11 months.. both who I absolutely adore, and I really don't think that it's a good idea to have the children around her every weekend. She freaks out under child stress. She only gives attention to my son, My daughter will be one this month and she hasn't even spent time with her. Just like when my son was one. She was never a good parent to my husband and his brother, and his dad and step mom truly only care about themselves, that's why he GAVE custody to his ex wife over his 12 yr old daughter, so he didn't have to deal with her., and when they see her once a yr they treat her like she's just a nuisance. What do I do raising my children with local grandparents that only care about themselves?

A relative recently brought something up. My 8 year old is very needy for attention. I've even caught her lying to get attention. She always wants people to feel sorry for her. I remember being the same way when I was little. My question is this....do you think that this "personality" will make her permiscuious? Because of the attention she will get from boys? What things can I say or do or talk about that will lead her away from that path?

I know the obvious answer is never. I know that if I get upset, my mom is always there to listen. My mom still has the motherly instinct too. She knows when I'm depressed or upset and calls me without anything being said. If I can't afford to buy something, my mom will go pick it up for me. Does this ever stop? I have children of my own but my mom is still always there for me. Is there ever a time that the instinct goes away?

Five children ranging from 6 mo to 11 years. I am worried about how to get through the airport. Can I use a stroller and take it on board? Can I request a private security screening? What are the things I need to know before I attempt this?

Found out that my soon to be 16 yr old daughter is smoking pot (that seems to be the extent of it right now), is friends with other teens who are said to be heavily involved in drug use and possibly sales. Everything happened so fast (new friends, strange activities)
What are some things I can do? What are appropriate punishments etc. Right now, I have taken cell away, comp and ability to go anywhere, have friends over. And have made appt with doctor.

I tried to have it removed from my programming with no luck. I don't want my kids to think that it is OK because it is NOT ! Call me what you will. I have a right to not like it just like everyone else has a right to like it, but it should not be forced on people to accept it.

Or do they change after a while? I mean, if when they are young, they don't interact with lots of kids, or don't go to daycare, or there are family problems in the family, or a time you were sick and you couldn't give lots of attention and love to your kids, does it really harm them for life, or they could change and become better????????

My younger brother is a woman-beater, & he punched my twin sister in the stomach so hard that she had a miscarriage, so my older brother's girlfriend's mom got upset because my twin sister didn't take my brother's girlfriend home from bible class, & the girlfriend's mom said, "Don't you think that's a GOOD thing your younger brother punched the baby out of your stomach? Because you can't even take good care of the one you got!"

At least my twin sister was grown & married. This woman had 3 kids back to back as a teen-ager & ENCOURAGED one of her daughters (my brother's girlfriend) to drop out of high school. So, what kind of parent is she?
