When I was 13,my mother gave me money to by thongs which I like. What's wrong with it?It's just another type of underwear.A friend of mine began wearing thongs when she was 7,because she was a tumbler and there they just had to have thongs.
This is ridiculus to worry about your mothr's reaction on thongs. If SHE is worried, this is ridiculous again. When I was 13 I started using tampons and my mother didn't know but she found it acceptable when I told her 2 years later.I don't understand why have you been brought up scared to talk with your mother about girls' things. That's a more important issue.

I am pretty ok about what my daughter wears, but I also make sure she knows to be careful. Are you wearing low pants where a part of the thong is showing on purpose?
In my personal opinion, no you are not too young.

I started wearing thongs when i was 13. At first I used to hide them.

When she found them the first time, she was upset saying she doesn't even wear them b/c my dad thinks there gross.

So she took them away. But of corse I bought some more and continued wearing them.

Again when i was like 14 she found some and was like "what did i say??? Why dont you listen??"

But i continued wearing them, and we've been shopping for them together!

I think you should bring it to her attention when you're out shopping.

just be like "Mom, do you think its bad to wear thongs? Becuse I was thinking about getting one to get rid of this nasty pantyline"

i think its completely fine. other underwears get uncomfortable i dont even own a pair of them any more. and u have no panty lines with thongs. but be careful cuz they do hang out your pants alot easier so you should wear a belt or something. your mom shouldnt mind. and if she does shes got some problems. 16 is more than old enough in my opinion. if you can legally drive a car, i think u can be mature enough to wear what kind of underwear you want.

I'm 16 and I've also been wearing them since i was 14. i didn't want to tell my mom because i thought she would freak but i finally told her a while ago and she was actually OK with it. she said it was normal and i should have told her sooner.

She should know, you are not an adult and you are living in her home. And personally, yes I think you're too young. The only reason I can think of that a young girl would want to wear those is in the hopes that boys will see them or know you're wearing them... it's not like they're comfortable! Take care...

It's not what you wear it's how you wear them. Be respectful to yourself as well as those around you. Keep them under your jeans where they belong and not hanging out for the rude guys to see not to mention young boys who are to young to see that stuff. As cute as teens think it is to have them showing it is very nasty to adults and makes you look trashy. Be classy and she should have no reason to be upset with you. Besides....honey, she probably already knows....we moms know more than you think. :)

16 is a good age.

i assume you do your own laundry and that she doesn't go snooping through your room.

14 is a bit young
