Everybody at one point in time has this problem. It does not mean you are nasty. I would treat all your furniture if not replace it all. I once heard a friend that had a at home day care took her kids shampoo and made it half shampoo and half lice shampoo. That way if one ever got on their hair the medicine was on their hair and add in them not getting them. Dont use the store brand stuff for this....use the good stuff. Keep their hair checked and all brushes clean or get alot of them and throw them away everyonce in a while. After treating the hair...part it off in sections and go through it with a comb that has a end with a point. Look through all sections. If you find one on the hair pull it off with twizzers. Good luck. I know this is a horrible thing to deal with but it can be solved.

Awwwww, give this gal a break!! Lice are extremely difficult to get rid of. Washing every tiny bit of clothing, bed linens, vacuuming, using head lice shampoo, using the lice comb, & doing this over & over & over again for months...... in this case, years?? TORTURE!!!!

By the way, having lice does NOT mean that you are dirty!! It simply means that you probably have been in contact with someone or some animal that has it!!! Kids get it a lot because they share hair brushes & combs.

It is a good idea to teach our kids to NOT SHARE hair brushes, combs, head bands, or any hair accessory!!

After trying everything on the market and following all directions from my daughter's pediatrician, we finally found the solution.
With a few cotton balls and a dish of alcohol (rubbing) we saturated her long curly hair and covered it with a plastic shower cap. Be careful to not let the alcohol get in your eyes and also have someone assist so you don't inhale the fumes.
Left it on for about 15 minutes and after taking it off, we found the dead lice and nits. Combed them out and after a couple of days, we repeated the above. Finally, no more lice, as she had had them for about a month and had passed them on to several people. Lice do not live on anything except hair. Good luck.

First try the over the counter lice treatments but if they dont work I once had to treat a child by sleeping with mayonnaise on her head overnight...put a plastic bag over the hair so that it doesnt soil your bedding and get lice spray to spray on everything after you strip things to be washed.Se had built up a resistance to the lice treatment. Also clean your carpets and spray them with lice spray. Its hard work to get rid of them and keep them gone but if you do wash everything and then also do you car because the can be in there too. If you have stuffed animals around your home you need to put them in a dark garbage bag and leave them for at least two weeks.
If you have pets you need to treat them also.
EVERY member of your family needs to do their head even if you dont think they have them and should all do them the same night.
Dont forget to boil combs, brushes, hair ties.
And be sure and wash all of your coats and outter wear.

You call yourself "superhottie" yet you claim to have had lice for the past 10 years. I guess people don't bathe where you're from. This is one of the best B.S. stories I've ever heard. 10 years of lice and you have friends? I don't think your boyfriend will really care if you still have them or not he's infested just as bad himself. You're just a dirty little thing aren't you

Vinegar on your head over night. And use a nit comb and special shampoo. Get rid of all the stuffed things, bedding, clothes etc...or wash them all.

get new brushes and combs, put all blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, hats, winter coats and jackets in a garbage bag tie it up tight and leave them in there for 6 weeks, vacuum ALL your furniture EVERYWHERE and all carpet, spray everything with lice spray EVERYWHERE, boil hair accessories that can be throw others out, wash all cothing and towels, wash hair in prescription lice treatment (though kersosene works best I don't think Dr's recommend it), go through hair and get EVERY nit out, repeat in 2 weeks.

ok i had the same problem with my daughter and we used kerosene. it worked. put it in your hair and leave it in for like fifteen minutes, wash it out with normal shampoo and conditioner, then comb it out with a nit comb. you also have to wash all your clothes and bedding they sell sprays for that stuff in drug stores. spray it everywhere. you also have to do it daily to make sure if u missed any that u get them. dont worry about people saying your dirty it happens. just try that im pretty sure itll work my daughter hasnt gotten them again. oh yeah if u have stuffed animals put them in garbage bags so they suffocate. keep them in there for a week or so or you could also throw them in the dryer on high heat for about 45 minutes. the heat wil kill the bugs. try it and let me know. rememebr its not your fault. make sure u let me know how it works.
