what do you mean exactly? what area are you looking for foster parents in?

Well, let's see...

This is a very big decision and I wonder if you know what it really means.

It isn't something you can do because you had a fight with your folks...or don't like their rules.

(Maybe you're thinking of a program that places kids with families who "host" an adolescent child for a year, usually in another country? That program isn't free...your parents have to pay some of your airfare, living expenses, etc.)

BUT, if you really do want to be removed from your present home, you have to be under 18 & living with your birthfamily.

And you need a good reason...

If you feel you're being neglected or abused, you need to call Child Protective Services in your town...

Call 911 & ask them for the number if you can't find it.

You'll be assigned a social worker who will interview you & your parents & decide if you should be removed from their custody.

If you are removed, you may be sent to a foster home or to a group home depending on available space.

Remember that you may not like the foster parents you're sent to live with.

No living situation is perfect & there are always going to be rules to follow.

Have you talked to anyone about this?

For instance-------------
your school counselor~
a teacher you like~
the parents of your best friend~
your family doctor~
your minister or rabbi or priest?

I hope you will find the help you need...let me know how it goes, okay?

Be safe--
Patricia...
