Or do they change after a while? I mean, if when they are young, they don't interact with lots of kids, or don't go to daycare, or there are family problems in the family, or a time you were sick and you couldn't give lots of attention and love to your kids, does it really harm them for life, or they could change and become better????????

Personalities basically develop in childhood, though I think it's fair to say that they're not "set" until the later teens. For instance, a personality disorder cannot generally be diagnosed until you're at least 18 because of maturation variabilities. At the same time, you would expect a personality disorder to be apparent from the time a person is younger, as well.

Personality tends to be viewed as something that's relatively unchanging. Once it's established, it's set. On the other hand, we also have "traits" that can change over time. Most of us would say, "personality" and mean "traits," I think. A trait is basically an emotional or behavioral pattern.

A child's early life is very influential, in any case. Most psychologists now agree that it is a mix of genetics and early childhood experiences that help shape us to become who we are as adults.

I think the most important thing to do if you go through a situation like this is to be aware of any negative consequences that are possible and try to pay attention to your children. If you see that they are having problems, then try to get help early on to take care of it. I think if there is a short period where a person is ill or there are family problems, chances are the children will be able to rebound much faster than if it was a long-term problem. Just give your kids all the love and attention you can, and if you're really afraid that there is a problem, work to correct the problem.

I tend to have a very humanistic view of human life, which basically thinks people can always change for the better. :) Even if someone goes through something difficult early on, if they have lots of love and support I believe things can usually work out for the better.
