nothing will happen to him, if he has no money. the only thing money is for is commissary. I work as a correctional officer.
they provide him with every thing he needs, even stamps.
where I work they get commissary once a week. If an inmate has less than $2.00 on their books they can get what called a welfare pack which normally comes with 2 stamped envelopes, a razor, pencils and writing paper, toothpaste and a finger toothbrush. if he has any medical problems the city or state picks up the bill, you don't have to worry about them coming to you for his medical bill. just a side note, most inmates gamble with their commissary. each jail or state prison have some variations.

Some times the best parenting means making the most difficult of decisions. There is no question that you are doing the right thing. Now if you really want to help him and still show him you love him even though he has some anger sissues and obviously legal issues, then make sure you shower that 11 year old boy with love. There is your real victim in all this, so if there is any saving to do ......then save the kid....Good Luck!

no all the cash is for is for commisary which is extra food writing supplies etc. All the essentials are provided. If he requests money for medical you can call the jail itself and pay them not the child. You are not a bad parent you did the best you can. He needs help to learn how to be a productive part of society. I know a lady that signed her child over to the state due to outbursts like that and he is now doing great. You shouldn't put your other kids in jeopardy. It's a hard thing to do.

i'm glad you will not give him money. Nothing will happen if he doesn't have money on his books. He just can't get the extras, like candy bars. If he wants to write you a letter he will need $ for an envelope. if you want that i would just give him a couple of dollars and tell him that he has to write you. He will try to make you feel sorry for him and say he needs the money but he doesn't so don't give in. He will never grow up if you do. i have delt with people like that before.

You are definitely doing the right thing!! Jail is called punishment for a reason. Sending him money is for extra stuff. They give you the necessities and thats all he needs. Hopefully he will take this time to get his life together!!

with a little luck there will be a big homosexual there that he has to share a 8x8 cell with that can either slap him up side the head to smarten him up or show him what it means to be disrespected in another way that might get the point across

dont send money. the jail will provide everything he needs. if you want to send something, send a card and some personal items he can have. toiletries, paper and envelopes, stamps, etc. and hang in there, you sound like a caring person. :)

he'll be fine without $$ on his books. he just won't get to buy any bags of chips or cups of noodles :P he'll have to eat the jail food. don't give that moocher any more of your disability money, you need it for other things!
