My husband and I have recently moved and I'm staying with my in-laws until he's done with training for a new job. We've been here (me and my 11wk old) for about 2 weeks, and for the last 3days he's been unusually fussy. He's usually fine when he gets up in the morning then he has crying episodes for the rest of the day. Could it have something to do with him sensing my stress? or should I take him to the doctors? He has no other symptoms, no fever or change in pee or poop? I don't know what it is and its hard to watch him cry like that and not know what to do about it? Anyone have any advice. 1st baby!!!!

Are you nursing or using formula? He may have some gas or he may be getting some teeth.

For the gas, you can try laying him on his back and then move his legs like he is on a bike, but be gentle and slow about it.

As far as teeth, be sure he has something to chew on that is safe for him (obviously, but still).

You can try to give him lots of interaction, interesting toys, a pacifier (if that is something you are ok with), put him in a infant swing, a bouncy seat, etc. Try taking him for a walk in a stroller, if you have a baby sling, try wearing him for a while. You can also take him for a ride in a car or try putting him in his car seat, strapping him in, and setting him on the dryer while it runs, but keep a close eye on him.

Other than the obvious of checking his diaper and making sure he is fed, he might just be sore, too. He is using new muscles all the time and they may be tired. Try giving him a baby massage. Try this link.... http://www.makewayforbaby.com/massages.htm

If all else fails and he is still fussy, if it is bothering you, step out for a minute. I know that sounds bad, but sometimes they just need to let it out. I have 2 kids and I am 38 weeks pregnant. Sometimes, you just need a break and they do, too.

I really hope that something in this helps you and you get a break. I know how it can be.

Good luck
