My son's father & I split up 2 years ago. He is now 4. He saw him once immediately after we split up & disappeared. I have not received one dollar for child support in the 2 years since we split. He has not called on birthdays or Christmas or anything or sent any gifts or cards. He has a drug problem now, is in and out of jail and arrested ALL the time since we split 2 years ago. He does not live in the same state as we do. I just found out that he is now a fugitive with 3 felony warrants issued in the state he is currently in. I do not yet know what they are for. Last night, he called me (had not heard from him for at least a year by phone) he demanded that I let him come down & see his son next month. Can he legally do this? Can I go try to get legal custody of him now? I never felt I needed to before since he just disappeared. I do feel it is NOT in my son's best interest to be around him at this point in his life. It is not my personal dislike for his father.

i have difficulties with boundaries having had a strict upbringing and my son unfortunately is more of an adult than a child due to there only being the two of us, i also feel guilt for imposing boundaries, i feel i need more confidence in this area. Where do i begin. I give my boy a £ a day pocket money is that too much, what time should he go to bed, should he do job around the house and what is reasonable.

I have a few times. You get it in your mail or see it posted on a wall and one of the kids just stand out like you have seen him/her before. But,can't recall where or why....maybe that child resembles a kid from a TV commercial or kid in your own child's class. And it makes you feel....I guess helpless because a picture of a missing child looks familiar...but..you don't know why or how.Making you useless as far as being able to help.Just thought I would ask to see if I was the only one who has done this before.

I have a 10 year old step-daughter {Whom I love very much}, I have been in her life since she was 3.My husband and I gained full custody of her when she was 5, everything was great until she turned about 6 or 7 years old and then she started making up stories about me to her dad and just gets real argumentative and real snotty towards me.I am at a loss right now and don't know what to do anymore...Things are getting so bad at home for everyone cause there is constant argueing going on, do to me asking her to do something like her chores, she says no or just ignores me and walks away....Does anyone have any advice?!?

"It's the most fulfilling experience." "It's the most wonderful thing in life." "I won't trade it for anything else." "You'll change your mind when you grow up."

Heard them all. Remember you're talking to a non-father, who has never experienced what you're experiencing.

Write your most convincing statement here.

Why is it that some guys just don't want to see their children, even it they don't like the way they were concieved? Why some guys see child support as a way as the girl getting back at the guy? Can't they see the support is clearly for the child's needs and for their future. College, braces, uniforms for sports and other activies, school supplies, clothes, medical, day care expense, etc... Why guys pay in child support is really nothing, compare to what the single parent pays. Than why is it that some families can be so cold and not want to see their grandchildren but yet control their kids? A friend of mine's brothers father told his son to ask for joint legal custody in the case of his daughter because he will be financially responsible and if he is to be financially responsible he better have some sort of custody. They judge saw right through that and granted the mother full physical and legal custody.

We have a 20 month old and he has recently been throwing himself to the floor, and then banging his head off the floor after he hears the wonderful NO word or we discipline him for doing something he's not supposed to. Should I seem concerned or is this just the terrible twos and I should just sit tight and hang on?

1. It has been proven that breast feed babies are healthier and have fewer allegries and illness.
2. I have noticed a rise in kids with food allergies
3. It appears to me that fewer mothers are breast feeding Is there a connection
When i was growing up i had food allergies but i was like the only one in my class if not school now you go into a school and half the class is allergic to something, Wheat, nuts, the acid in some fruits, chocolate. This is nuts don't you think if more women breastfeed the problems would go away

He's normally a good sleeper. He's not in pain. No gas. Not sick, etc. He doesn't have a wet diaper. Doesn't want a bottle. Doesn't want to be held. If I pick him up and stick him in front of the TV, he's bouncing and laughing.

I will not allow my daughter to go to a movie unless I want who are going? Which movie she is going. I called and left a few messages from the other parents but so far none of them returning my calls.

She was on punishment for 2 weeks during the Christmas vacation. She did not get to attend family gather for the holidays. Can't watch TV, uses the phone, uses the computer and did not get to see her cousins during that time.

I offer to give a ride to the movie and pick her and her friends up but she wants to take the train. All her friends and her wants to take the MBTA to the movie threather.

She knows that I'm not playing with her. My husband and I are on the same page. He has no tolerate for her behaviors. If I did not work for a child protective agency. I think that she would gotten beat up however, I walked away until I calm down and talked to her.

As a SW, it is very easy to deal with other kids but with your own kid it is a different story. Thanks for all the tips

I do not put underwear on my children at night. They sleep in their pjs, and my husband thinks that is very odd, that they should have them on. I think they do not need that restriction or extra layer to overheat...what do you think?

leaving her 10 yr old, 6 yr old and 5 yr old in the care of one of their school teachers 5 days a week, mostly overnights. The father of the children is petitioning for the kids to come and live with him, since he is not oly financially able to afford it, but he is a stay at home dad, providing the kids with a familial relationship.

What would your ruling be if you were the judge? Send the kids to live with their Dad who is able to spend 24/7 with them, or keep them in the full time care of the babysitter with visitation with their prison guard mother?
