okay this happened again yesterday and i tried talking to my parents but it still happens. i talked with my parents about why they treat me like my younger brother and sister and i try to have an adult talk. the told me i still need a babysitter and other stuff because i am prepubesent. i found out on here that means immature yesterday.

last night my parents had me on the bath schedule and my brother was on there too. my parents don't lock the door because they say it isn't safe. i had to go after my brother last night and as my brother was drying off and changing and brushing his teeth. my mom tells me to take off my clothes and get in the bath. i don't like it when my brother is still in there. also how do i get her to not check on me?

I have to go to school. i'll be back later.

I am a stay at home father, by choice. I left a very good job, albeit one that I was not terribly happy with, to raise my two young sons while my wife pursued her career. Also I am taking this opportunity to further my education.
When I tell people that I stay at home they immediately think that I lost my job or that I am lazy and am making my wife support me. Why do people jump to such conclusions?

My children and I were setting goals to achieve in this new year. I ended up saying how they wanted to try "keeping a diary" etc. My children are 11yrs and 8yrs. How do I encourage them to set a goal without forcing or being to "mummy" about it.?

MY son is 2y 7mth he attends day nursery 3 afternoons per week he's always been quite good and the staff say he's really a pleasure. The past 2 months an autistic child has attended who is quite demanding and has some terrible displays of behaviour and demands, screaming, shouting and needing attention. I know children need intergrating and if the shoe was on the other foot I may feel different. My son is now copying this particularily behaviour at home or when out! I pay £250 per month for this and feel my son is at a very influential age. We sorted him for the week between Christmas but 2 days back and he's the same, high pitch scream demands. I do lots of activities with him at home. I'm thinking of moving his nursery because of this but he's been there since 7mth, his displays are all what I have witnessed from this child when I drop him off so it must be constant all day.
Any advice please?

My 12 year old daughter is suddenly extremely fearful of death and dying. The topics that seem to freak her out the most are global warming, jonbenet ramsey, and auto accidents. She is extremely fearful that she will die one of these ways. I guess it doesn't help she strongly resembles Jonbenet..maybe someone said something to her. I don't know how to make her feel better. Do you think she needs counseling?

When I had our daughter in April of '05 her father (now my husband) didn't want to be a part of our lives because he wanted to finish college and live his life. He isn't even on the birth certificate, yet. A month later he changed his mind, moved in with us and a few months later we got engaged. We are married now and I have his last name but she doesn't! I don't know how I would go about doing this. We went to our county courthouse but they didn't know what they were talking about and just gave us a paper to fill out to get a COPY of her birth certificate! I called back later and someone told me that I would get a paper that I'd need to fill out once our marriage certificate came and I could change her last name that way. Well, our marriage certificate came a LONG time ago and I got no such paper. I'm getting pretty frusterated!

My question is: How do I go about giving my daughter her father's last name when he isn't on the birth certificate yet?? Thank you so much for your help!

have you ever heard of income splitting...so that your partners splits his income and makes it look like you have earned money on your taxes...can this benefit us in buying a new home?
We have tried for a year so far and NO ONE wants to see us in a new home, because my husband is theone who works (trades) and I stay home with the kids...the shitty part is, they like to see 2 incomes coming in.
Another thing is I know I am not the only stay home mom, and I see couples like us living in these nice new homes...how do they do it???
And not all of them have great credit either?

Hi! My daughter has a lot of friends who come over and stay until all hours of the evening. They come over without being invited and will bring their friends over. While I like the kids in small doses, having 6 to 10 kids here until 10 or later 5 out of 7 nights a week makes it difficult to get my 8 year old to sleep. I also cannot study with all the commotion going on. The kids swear at each other, make a mess in my house, and make it so that I cannot even sit down in the living room because they are taking up all of the seats. I'm also tired of the constant video games on the TV. I don't have the food to feed this many people either and I'm tired of cooking food and telling them I can't feed them.

I've tried asking them not to come over so much, but they just leave for a few hours and are right back the next day. I'd like some peace and quiet and to only see them in small doses.

Help!

im single because the father of my soon to be first born decided not to own up. thats not the main problem through. i had an extreamly trubled youth full of lots of meds and hospital stays. i've been better for a while now. i have no need for meds or tretments anymore. but im worried people will see me to be unfit to be a mother. i know i will be great but i'm not so sure about the rest of the world.

She is 7 and I played it cool. I said we should talk about it and that it is ok not to like someone all the time. She said that sometimes I am mean.. that I yell (I am not a yeller, very rarely) and that I talk behind her back to myself, her uncle and her grandma... I do talk about her.. she is my pride and joy, but rarely will I say anything negative behind her back... So I kep digging to see what was bugging her... as those reasons dont' seem valid... she said I should take her to more fun places.. she had nothing else to say that was negative.. I didn't want to push it, and so I said that she did really great talking to me about it and that is what makes people that live together get along better: communication. Did I do ok... Should I have hurt feelings?

For me: when relatives or sometimes friends visit for the first time since the baby was born and all of a sudden want to tell me how to do things their way. I know some may be trying to help, but it's overbearingly annoying. I would like to do things my way and what works for me and my child. I just want people to relax when they visit and love on the baby, not dictate and analyze every move I make. Any annoyances for you new moms?

My husband and I have two childre, but feel there is a void in our life. Me having more children is a very serious issue. There are risks on top of risks!! Since me getting pregnant is such a high risk, adoption seems to be the only option to have more children! I know there are many babies born into this country every day who are unwatned. My husband and I make a little over 20,000 a year (he works while I take care of the children) and I'm not about to go work full time so we can "qualify" for adoption so that a daycare can raise my children! Is there any company out there that helps parents who are fully qualified to adopt in every aspect but financially? We may have a lower income than others, but our children are very healthy, smart, happy, and loved!!! The story would be the same for any children we would adopt. There's gotta be something out there that can assist us in an adoption!
