This is the same question as the last. But I'd like to go into more detail because some people could not understand the question that well. I was asking about why they ask idiotic question like the ones previously stated in the last question (Check it out for the details). I was simply not talking about the regular parenting question like "What should table foods should I start my baby on?", "When should I teach my child about the birds and the bees?", and etc... Those questions have an actual purpose. I'm asking about the dumb questions. I came upon a dumber one that asked "Does an eclispe affect a pregnant womans baby?". I would assume most of you know the answer is no. Most eveything that affects the baby affects the pregnant woman also and most poeple like smoking, drinking, taking medication, and etc... In my honest opinion askin about the eclispe is like asking "Is the Boogeyman real?"! I'm asking as a topic, only to hear the answers of others. So you can say it's rhetorical.

So a hypothetical: You are the mother of 3 children, 9 & 10 year old girls and a 7 year old boy. The children are well behaved when you are around, but when they are left with the babysitter they become little demons. This is a household that relies on spanking for punishment, and the children know that the sitter won't be able to punish them, and that they can get away with a lot more and escape getting as severe punishment later from the parents.

Should the parents give permission to the babysitter, (who is a 16 year old, well rounded good girl who they trust) to spank the children and keep order in the house while the parents are away?

If not, what else should be done?

I'm about to have my first child (a boy) and am torn with this question, since my husband has a teenage nephew who is gay and who stays with us sometimes for weeks at a time. I'm afraid to leave him alone with my new son and was wondering what other people think.

We have three kids (almost 9, 4 and almost 2) and our eldest id very self sufficient. We pay our babysitter $10 per hour. We leave the house spottless, lots of food to eat and instructions for the sitter. When we come home, the house is a disaster, dishes are left with uneaten food in them, kitchen is not wiped down (if juice or something spills, it is not cleaned up), kids go outside without hats (we live in Canada) and oh, she very often forgets to change the baby's diaper. The kids like her because she plays with them but hey.... shouldn't she at least clean up? When I baby sat, the parents ALWAYS came back to a house just like they left it with their kids clean. Should we talk to her OR look for a new one?

when you can just write on a piece of paper what not to do and what to do in case of an emergancie. whats wrong with that writting stuff down on a piece of paper. like rules of house. dont touch stuff. certain stuff is offlimits. so why dont parents leave there little kids alone when they can write all that stuff on paper. the kids will be fine as long as they write down stuff on a paper

My girls and I cna have fun doing anything but my favorite is when we drive somewhere. I turn the radio up everytime we get in the car. I sing; they dance in their carseats...lol. They love pop music so everytime one of their songs come on, I know I'm in for some entertainment. So, what's the most enjoyable thing you do with your children?

My second child will be 7 in 3 months. He does great in school and he plays baseball and loves it. He is very outgoing and lovable, but for the last year, his personality has changed and even though he is still the way I described, he wines and cries all the time, he throws himself down and is very emotional and disobeys a lot. He thinks he can't do things and cries out of frustration, he cries when he doesn't get his way, he cries when he is in trouble. And if he can't make tears come out he thinks of something sad, like my uncle that died last year. His crying is more fake then anything, but it is causing other kids to not want to play with him. What do I do? I think it is the middle child syndrome more than anything, but how do I know if it is something more? I am going to talk to his Dr. about it. I also think it may be his age - anyone else have this experience with their 6 year old?

is correct? That 3rd world mothers with no food don't stimulate their kids with toys so the kids are mental? My mom says it is usually a white person w/no kids or someone w/no kids who says this. She says the most of them are unmarried too who say this.

My teenage daughter is a very smart young girl, and I believe that it is for that reason that she has begun to question her beliefs. She reccently told me that she is starting to lose her faith in God, and that she's started to be more interested in all of the scientific discoveries that have occured over the years that, as she puts it, make much more sense and scientific backing than the Bible.

I really do not know what to do in this situation. I do not want my daughter to become an atheist, especially at such an early stage in life.

What should I do?

I'm looking after a little girl, who mother is deployed with the Army. She is an angry little girl with a bad attitude toward authority. She has little trust and little respect. She whines about everything, and wants constant attention. I wish I could help her feel more positive about life.

My children learned tonight that their father (my ex-husband) is going to marry his girlfriend. What do I tell them? How do I handle this? What are any negative signs I should look for -- isn't this one of those things that leads children astray? They are 6 and 8.
