My wife says it is fine. I think not! I think Dad or Father is much better. I do not know why but I have always had this idea.

Help! I have a seven year old son. He's very tall for his age, he'll be over 6 foot for sure when he an adult! Recently my mum has been going on about him getting 'fat' and asking if i'm going to the doctor as he might have a throid problem and its really getting me down. Ok, so he has a tubby belly and a round face but he is NOT fat. Please don't say that hes my son and I should take no notice of her as I can't. My wee boy eats well as I do and I've told her as its dark early hes not running about as much.I mentioned this to my friend who mentioned puberty!!?? Help!!! Anyone!!!

My son is 7 yrs old and has never met or spoken to his father. His father and i married when i was 21 and had just graduated from college. His father was 23 yr old Australian pro-surfer.I fell head over feet for but we seperated after a year of marriage.I shortly after found out i was pregnant with his son so i went and contacted him to inform him.He attended his sons birth and stuck around after for a little bit but we could not agree on anything so we split up.He moved back to Australia and i traveled to England for work and lived there for 6 months.I have traveled all over Europe for work with my son who is almost 7 now.His dad all of a sudden wrote to me stating that he wants visitation rights or co-custody?His dad did did call me everyonce in a while to check on my son but never spoke to him though. He sent gifts to my parents house that my son did recieve orth a total of 620 dollars but no child support.

We recently found out that my husband has an 18 month old son who is the half sibling of my daughter. We had DNA confirm that he did indeed father this child. How do I seperate myself from wanting to be this child's mother when he already has one? And if we divorce what right do I have as far as visitation for my daughter?

i am 14 year old girl, and my parents think i still need a babysitter. This wouldnt be a problem but my parents hire some guy from a babysitting service and not family or a neighbor. This old man keeps trying to make a move on me saying "lets tuck you into bed" and "time for your bath" Its really gross, how do i get it to stop?

Are there parents out there who are not living together but have an agreement of financial support without involving a court order?
If so how has it worked out for you? I'd appreciate details of your situation and any tips.
My daughter's father is good about paying his support in the amount we agreed upon. On occasion he drops little comments/kind of complains about it in his way (which I cannot STAND because I am her primary caregiver 99.9% of the time) but so far has held up his end of the deal.
On one hand I am afraid he's going to flake out or drop the ball at some point. On the other hand I reeaaallly don't want to go to court. We get along well and he loves his daughter very much and why rock the boat. Is this a mistake?
He just doesn't have the greatest history of responsibility and I worry.

I've looked everywhere for a dedicated place to adoption and after months have given up hope that Yahoo would ever put it up. Why is there place for the subject of adoption when so many people have been touched by it?

Do you model the wrong behavior? Why not go out and get a job and teach children independence? Is a stay at home Mom better than the social benefit of day care?

I posted this in "Entertainment", but wanted to post this here as well for feedback! Thanks-----

They graduate in May of course, but I want to throw a party for all of them in April. I was thinking a cook out on a Saturday afternoon so they could still 'go out' that night.

So, my questions are:
Is it OK to have a party for him that also honors the rest of the class, etiquette-ly speaking?
Is April 15 too soon?
Do I invite the parents?
What are some good festive ideas to make this special?
What sort of party favor should I get each of them?
I was going to make everyone a CD of 'graduation' songs, is that cheesy?

Of course, the focus will be my son, but I want to honor the entire class because they have all gone to school together for so long. Of course, we don't want anyone bringing gifts.

I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how

my 10 year old son has been caught stealing several times in the last 3 or 4 years. now it is getting worse. at first it was just a handful of change. then it was a $1 here and $2 there. this morning he was caught with $15. my husband have been noticing money coming up missing lately, but have just been shoving it off as nothing. but now we are begining to think it was our son taking it. we have tought him that stealing is wrong no matter what was taken. we have punished him in the past, but it obviously has not done any good. i just don't know what to do. i am afraid that if something is not done soon he will end up in jail. my son also has some anger problems. we have tried to put him in counseling, but his grades in school dropped drasticly. what can i do to help him? i am at a loss as to what to do.

My son is 4 and does a mixed martial art - part kickboxing/karate/tae kwon do/self defence... But when I mention that their kids might benefit from doing it, they shy away like I have blasphemed or something... Because of the violent world we live in, I would hope that my child learns right from wrong and if things get out of hand, that he is equipped physically and mentally to deal with situations when they arise and control them...

What do you think???

I understand the fairness factor and we make things equal as far as love, gifts, and attention. But she goes far and beyond that and wants to go to speech therapy like her sister, go to the doctors if her sister has to go just to name a few. I tried to explain it to her but she feels it's unfair. why does she feel this way and how can I help her stop going to far with the fairness?
