Because it's different, because it's odd to them, because... because... well, because people can be jerks.
I'm sorry you've encountered people who can't leave well enough alone. Believe me when I say, I understand completely! I learned to ignore the ignorant because sometimes, it's all you can do.
Bless you and all your J-babies!
Signed,
Joanna (one of fourJ-named children born to one J-named mama)

We have that problem too (with J's even!) I had my son before I met my husband so initially this wasn't done on purpose. But when we found out I was having our daughter we decided to stick with a J name. We also have good friends that are doing the same thing....again with the J names. We all look at it this way....It's not their family so who cares.
By the way I like your kids names....we thought of using those same ones!

To each his own. I wouldn't do it, because when frustrated I would end up having to go through all the names to get the right one since they sound so close. It's like what the Duggars have done.
I know an M clan, there is five of them and they all have L as their middle initial.
Then I know another M clan, there is 7 of them, with MRM as their initials.

We had a J-clan in the neighborhood where I grew up. Jessica, Jamie, Jennifer, Jody, and two more I can't remember, all girls. I thought it was unusual. I don't know why anybody feels compelled to make negative statements to people about their personal choices. Maybe we are all just too outspoken or just plain rude in this country.

I don't know why people would care. My mom's mom names all her kids with D's. David, Donald, Daphne, Donna, Dean, Debra, Dale and Delphine. I thought it was kind of cool...but some poeple just have to make a big deal about everything.

My brother, John, and his wife, Jami have 4 kids named Jami Leigh, Jackie, Jenny, and Jay. Jami Leigh's boyfriend's name is Jacob. Their dog's name is Jewel. We all call them the "J" Family, they call themselves that, too. I can't think of a time when people have commented negatively, but people do comment about it because it is unique to have all the members of the family start with the same letter. It can get confusing sometimes to people. Sometimes people are just rude, don't listen to them. It is your life and your family, you can do whatever you want.

I have a family of J's too. James, John, Justin, Jared, Jocelyn, and I am naming my little one Jayden. They comment because they are stupid and they don't know you don't really care what they think :)

It is unusual, people comment on the unusual. Ripley made a big buck off the unusual.
