I'm not sure you need instructions. Fold a long, narrow strip of fabric lengthwise, wrong side out, and then stitch it to make a casing. Turn it inside out (using the eraser end of a pencil, or a crochet hook) put elastic in it (very thin and stretchy, no more than quarter inch), sew the ends of the elastic together, fold one end of the fabric in slightly, then push the other end into it and sew across it to finish. You can decorate it with ribbon roses or make little bows.
It's like making scrunchies...ever do that as a kid? except that the elastic will be longer.
You can also get stretchy lace and just sew the ends together to make a simple lace headband.
And for the person who said she didn't know what the point of baby headbands was...sometimes your baby doesn't have much hair and everyone thinks she's a boy no matter how she's dressed...the hairband is like sticking a sign on the baby that says, "It's a girl." Yes, I'm speaking from personal experience...and I had to make my own headbands for my daughter because she has a big head.

Those are hideous. Just like the ones dull tutus. Put her in a hat or bonnett, or a scarf and not using a big flower. You must desire to awareness on how adorable your youngster is,now not the monster flower developing out of its head. And your youngster shall be swaddled nearly all of the time while its a infant. Dont get too excited approximately the "adorable garments". You'll be surprised how most likely your youngster simply arms out in a onesie or diaper on account that you are going to be wholly and wholly exhausted and sleep disadvantaged.

When I'm looking for instructions to knit of sew something (I'm a beginner), I type for eg: "free baby headband patterns". You'll get a list of sites that can offer you free patterns. Good luck.

I used to make bows and little girls socks. I could not find anything that showed me how. I just went on eBay bought one of each, and used that as a "cheat sheet" to show me how.

OMG please don't do that. They are so awful looking. I have always wondered why mothers would want to stick a piece of elastic around the head of an almost bald little baby? I mean....are they afraid the wind will toss their hair in their faces? I mean...who is to stop you if you like it but that is my opinion.
