Because my mom believes that I sleep in every morning and hit my kid and stuff because I let my kid vent to her... Now my mom actually believes this stuff and questions my parenting.. so I had to basically tell my kid that grandma is not allowed in our private life anymore and to tell her basic things, but not things that she can use against mommy... anyone else find this.. that grandma is such a good listener that she draws the kids out to vent about you....?

My son has come home more than once saying he wished he was invited to different parties but wasn't. He is 14, well liked and is friends with most of the kids throwing these parties. Not best friends, of course. For example, tonight a girl that has been and is a friend and also had, at one time, a crush on him is having a party. He didn't get an invite - even though she knew he knew about it. I tend to think it is a status thing. Everyone (the "uncool and cool alike" thinks he is funny and fun (usually in an adorable little brother way), but he isn't a jock or in the popular group. Band (percussion) and golf are his passions. So, I hope that is enough background when I ask - what would you say when he comes home saying he really wishes he was invited to these parties and why isn't he? Thanks in advance... I want to be sure he is not losing self esteem over this.

We are being evicted on Monday for not paying our December rent, when we have concrete proof that we paid it. I am so angry at the pastor of the church that owns the house as it is her sole decision to evict or not, and she is choosing to believe a corrupt rental company instead of 5 people she knows very well. I am pregnant and my husband and I have 2 young girls at home, that she told me on the phone this afternoon, will be expected to be out of the house on Monday by 12, which means on the streets. I hung up on her before I said something I regretted, now I wish I had said it. How can I get some of this anger off of my chest productively so that on Monday I can approach her and give her a piece of my mind without freaking out and flying off the handle?

I have another question related to this situation if you care to read it....

at the church she is used to because they have proven 3 times to me now that they have no integrity or sincerity? I am going to give her the option of attending church with her aunt instead.

We rent a house from the church and the rental company is claiming we did not pay the rent for December, we have the proof that we did, but they are still evicting us on Monday. They have done this to two other families that I know of. I absolutely cannot justify sending my daughter to a church that would advocate kicking a pregnant woman, her two children and their father out in the middle of January, even when there is concrete proof that the rent was paid.

How do I broach the subject with her, without going into all the details?

I wasn't a good kid: shoplifting, burglary, drugs, drinking, unprotected sex, ...

My kids seem too good to be true. Anywhere from pretty good to fantastic behavior from my adolescents. I keep warning them about bad behavior like watch out for your friends shoplifting when you go to the store together. It's not like their friends are bad kids, either.

Do those who live in the country have to watch every movement of their children so they are safe? Do you and your neighbors watch out the window at times to insure the safety of your neighbors children as well as yours? Help keep your children safe and watch as much as you can, please.

But my mind is saying that now isn't the right time because of certain circumstances in my life (waiting until next year would be better). I was wondering of any other moms have felt that they wanted another child so badly but knew that it wouldn't be such a smart idea at the time.

Only answer this if you have kids please.
Okay, here's the deal I want truthful answers. Fess up, how old was your child when they were off the bottle-including night time bottle. And how old were they when they were potty trained-no more pampers or pull ups.

Honest answers and ages for both milestones.

I have a four year old. His biological father has only seen him once since the day he was born. Of course, I was dumb enough to put his last name on the birh certificate and have him sign it. My husband really wants to adopt him. He has taken care of him since he was five months. My son knows my husband as dad. I also get child support checks from the biological father. I just want my husband to adopt my son and I have no idea how. Someone Please help me, I want to get this done as soon as possible. Thank You

I may be from the old school, but I am seeing more and more rude, unmanagable chirdren. My wife is a school teacher and she says the same thing. Seems like today many parents can't raise their kids with discipline for fear that the kids "may like like us". I remember as a kid, if I got crossways with the teachers at school, all it would take to smarten me up was the dreaded "I'm going to call your parents". Why dosen't that work anymore? Is it because most parents won't make their children take responsibility for their actions? We not only provide love and guidance to our kids, but have taught them manners and respect as well, why can't other parents do this?? What can be done to " take back" the kids today.Your thoughts?

My son reccently let out the truth that he was abused since he was seven; I hit the roof and cussed him out, blew a gasket and told his father. Today he came home after one of his friends was looking for him. It was 9:00 and it is now 10:30. After much comforting, he is asleep, I apologized a milion times and said I believed him, but I still think he's mad at me. How do I make up lost time?

I was living with my daughter's father in Alabama for the begining of my pregnancy. The first fight we got into, he took off & went to Texas. He's been living with his family completely living off of them since then. He has started school stating he wants to make something of himself for his daughter's sake. He was not here for her birth & never called to see if she was born. A week after her birth I called him. His aunt flew us down there to visit for 4 days. My daughter is now 2 months old. He states he loves us & wants to be with us but keeps making excuses as to why he cannot. I am not interested in a relationship with him, just want him to be a part of his daughter's life. I have gone from sleeping on a friends couch to having my own place. It's a continuos struggle with NO financial help from him. Financial help would be great but I more want him to be a father. How do I get him to understand that he can't keep putting her off. I want him to stop acting like a "SPERM DONOR".

As ive said before i have a 4 year old son who is VERY attached to Ashley, who is a girl ie been fooling around with for almost 5 months now. Three days ago her and I decided we should stop seeing each other and we talked to my son about how she wouldnt be around anymore because shes busy and were "breaking up". For the past 3 days he has done nothing but cry and scream and ask for her. I think hes depressed (if a child can be) but its not just him, Ashley who was just as attached to him has been very sad and depressed (said a mutual friend) I dont know if i should let her come around him or if i should just let it go and hope they both get over it. What do you think ?

by the way my sons mom left us a long time ago and he has called ashley mommy a few times, but quickly corrected himself.
