Dogs - March 2007

I found her watching him outside one day and she was pointing a pitchfork at him like she was going to hurt him because she was angry at him. Ive been worried all the time and i take my dog to my boyfriends place and watch him there, but his parents are getting fed up. I dont know what to do, please feel free to post suggestions.

This is the first time scence I had him and its been almost 7 years.I don't have enogh money to take him to the vets. Hes trowing up yello slimmy stuff and just lays or if he moves he just lays there. he wont move. I dont know what to do PLEASE help

I have a 7 month boxer/mastiff mix that has been really cool so far. He took to the crate pretty fast and played by himself when no one could spend time with him.

About the past 3 or 4 days ago whenever you leave him alone he barks and whines constantly until someone brings him inside or lets him out of his crate. It is a struggle to get him into the crate and when we do he barks for about 30 minutes straight before laying down (I have been told not to reward the barking so I have to wait but 30 minutes of barking the past few nights can drive you crazy).

He's only in his crate to sleep at night (which is in the living room), and when no one's home he is outside in the yard. Other than that he's inside with someone and when he is he's perfectly fine. Why does he suddenly find it so hard to be alone? Is there any way to get him to stop (without drugging him)?

I would be getting one in the PA or NJ area (not anytime soon though). Just wondering how much a puppy is from a reputable breeder (purebred, all genetic tests done, etc.). It's one of the breeds I'm looking into for the future :)

I just got a brand new baby girl. And I mean a puppy. But the bad part of the whole or deal is that she is not pottie trained. My mom say's if we dont do something quick she might leave us. I dont want that to happen. What do I do, to get her to stop going to the bathroom on my mom's new rug?

My friend's 10 lb pug just swallowed one of those ped-type pantyhose whole - should she take her to the vet? Or will it just pass through the dog's system? Thanks so very much!

My favourite breed of dog is the Maltese. Why because the have a beautiful nature and have beautiful features.

We noticed it a couple of weeks ago, but didn't think much of it, until it looks like it's getting bigger. It is red a little bit of blood (like a teeny tiny drop) The whole sore is about the size of a adult thumb print, and doesn't have much hair on or around it.There is also a little bump too. She is also licking it a lot. Any idea's of what it is? Please let me know what you think.

I just got her back tonight and I am gonna run to the store but it's now already 10:40 pm, and Wal*Marts the only place open.
Is there anything there I can get for my dog that is effective?
I dont wanna waste my money.. but I know sometimes they might have something that works.
I need something to get them off quickly bc they are in her ears and every where else.

How can I get my dog to play fetch nicely? He brings the toy back but he pounces on me as he does it. Also when he wants to play he tries to force himself in.

I would like him to bring me the toy and sit nicely and when he returns the toy after i have thrown it i don't want him to jump on me.

My puppy is 3 months old. Half German Shepherd and half something else, which I don't know. But my bf said just because she's a mutt she won't be able to get trained if I take her to puppy training classes because she's a mixed breed? How true is this?

My 1 year old lab is 15 pounds over wieght cause not every body knew who feed him now that it is sorted out what is a good way to give my fat lazie dog some exerszie PS i already take him on walks but it isn't enough.

I am getting a puppy soon. But I can't decide between a chipoo (poodle + chihuahua mix) or just the chihuahua. I know that a poodle is super smart, but I also heard that mixing the poodle with another breed doesn't help the offspring's intelligence. So a chipoo have the same intelligence as a chihuahua? Which one is more easy to train?? Thanks!

My 10 year old dog his front paw badly after he jumped for a frisbie. It is slightly swollen and he keeps it lifted & is limping. All his joints seem movable. I have been giving him baby asprin, and althought he hurts, he's still loving, eating and playful. Trying to find out if this has happened to anyone else, and since I have been unemployed, if I can avoid taking him to the vet and massive bills. Any ideas much appreciated, Jo

Ok so about 5 weeks ago we had to put my older dog to sleep. Now when i come home the house is so quiet and it scares me to come home cuz there are a whole crap load of murders in my city. (yeah its kinda weird cuz they all show up at once) ok so tonight i asked my mom if we could get another dog adn she said yes but then she said no because she doesnt know how our cats would react to another dog. I told her we would never know unless we tryed! And she just gave me "the look" but i know my cats will do fine with another dog cuz they are always fine when other peeps bring their dogs over...how do i get my parents to get another dog? i need like some very persuasive lines to get them...normally i could think of something but this time im stuck...HELP ME!!!!!
