My 10 year old dog his front paw badly after he jumped for a frisbie. It is slightly swollen and he keeps it lifted & is limping. All his joints seem movable. I have been giving him baby asprin, and althought he hurts, he's still loving, eating and playful. Trying to find out if this has happened to anyone else, and since I have been unemployed, if I can avoid taking him to the vet and massive bills. Any ideas much appreciated, Jo

ice it down. but keep toes moving it mosly like sprained it take it easy for a few days and go from there...not really know for sure unless ya get some xrays. older dogs will some times over extend their toes when landing from a jump like that. might be time to not throw to high...but don't stop playing as i'm sure its a highlite of the dogs day.

Hi Jo, Sounds like he has sprang his paw or he could of tore something. He his 10 years old and a little to old to be playing Frisbee. Give him less action things to do. He will love you for that. Take him to the SPCA and they will help you there without breaking your bank. A Friend.

I am really sorry to hear about your dog. I don't know how bad it is, but i think i can help you. =) Okay, when it is open, call the vet and ask what you can do to help your pet. If they can help, you can easily get a bag of ice and a gauze wrap-(put the ice on his foot and then wrap the bandage around his paw) Have *him/her* lay down for a while with it on. I hope I can help!!!!!

I like your name! (its mine too lol) its might be sprained or burised or broken...maybe he got bit by another dog...best bet would be to take him to a humane society and see if they could help you because sumtimes they will do stuff like that for free if you cant pay...GOOD LUCK!!
