I would be getting one in the PA or NJ area (not anytime soon though). Just wondering how much a puppy is from a reputable breeder (purebred, all genetic tests done, etc.). It's one of the breeds I'm looking into for the future :)

I don't know if price is the answer/question. Research on your part is your best bet. Know the parents, the kennel, the reputation, the line. A breeders contract may look scary (home visits and such) but if you REALLY want the best you will not blink at that. I'm a believer in adopting rescue dogs (go to the local poodle rescue) but if you really want to buy a dog do your homework.

Any puppy that is a purebred with papers and all the testing done can range from $800.00 to several thousand dollars.

Unless you are planning on breeding or showing the dog, I would recommend that you get a dog from a shelter.

There are thousands of pets in need of a home, and you can find poodles at a much lower price and you will be bringing it into a loving home.

Good luck and have a good night.
