I raised a few german shepherd dogs a few years ago.
Yes, tell them to stop. They are only playing, but if it is allowed, they may become unwanted "biters" and end up in the pound or worse yet, attacking a child or other person.
It is very important to give them things to chew on. They are
almost like a baby who is teething and needs to chew on something. I used to give mine those rawhide strips, like Cheweez. These sure kept them busy with their teething.
Also give them an old shoe of yours to chew on. They get comfort from the smell of their owner.
They will soon learn what they can or cant bite or chew on.
German Shepherds are still my favorite dog and devoted companion!Good luck!

Biting is a normal part of puppy play. If he does not stop, or bites hard, you can try spraying your hands with "Bitter Bite," which you can get at pet stores. The spray tastes bad, so the puppy learns that bite equals something negative, and stops.

it is normal for a puppy but if you teach him that it is okay now it is just gonna get worse as he gets older especially if its a male and you have new ppl around and if you have kids over or somthing then that might not be a very good idea but dont keep him away from vistors it makes them skitish and it will hert you in the long run my dog was scared of vistors and we didnt want him to be barking and so we put him in another room away from everybody then later my niece came from california and she just wanted to pet him and he bit a whole through her hand so be careful with how you train him but do train him to stop

Yeah I think it would be a good idea to train
him/her now so that in the future they don't bite
you or anyone else, perhaps buy some chewing
toys and place them in the back yard and take
your dog for regular walks to ensure their get
regular exercise..

The last thing you want is for him/her to bite some
little kid and then the pound knocking on the door
asking what happen..(^-^)..Happy Training..!

He will chew a lot.. Buy him bones and chew toys but when he bites a human he needs to know that's not ok. You can squeeze the gums over his "eye" teeth (the long pointy ones) not hard but just enough to make him feel it and tell him NO BITE. He will adventually catch on that it's ok to chew on toys but not bite someone.

Isn't 7 weeks still to young for a puppy to be taken from Mommy? Well anyway your puppy is probably teething just like you did when you were a "pup" and what did your Mom do? Right; she gave you something to gnaw on. When he/she starts in on your fingers, simply say NO and give him/her a chew toy and praise him/her.
