I adopted my little terrier (Sparky) from Animal Welfare when he was 3 months old. At the time I had a labrador and miniture maltese. In April this year my labrador passed away from Adisons desease, and my maltese 3 weeks ago from old age. She was 15. Since then my 7 year old terrier wont let me out of his sight. If I go to the loo, he is behind me. If I walk around the house he is behind me. When I go out he seems fine, but when I come he screeches at the top of his voice, and it is driving us nuts. any suggestions. I love him to pieces and am not a disciplinarian at all.

I am enquiring about a Labrador puppy. The lady that is seling the puppy asked me whether I wanted a registered puppy or not.

What is the difference between a registered puppy and a non-registered puppy?

I am getting the puppy from a registered breeder.

Labrador is for a family pet ONLY. Not going to be shown or bred at all.

Is it better to get a registered puppy or doesn't it matter?

How much does registration cost?

My mum's mini-foxie dog can put his head underwater to retrieve things - usually food. We did a little experiment using a bit of food and a container of water to see if our other dogs could stick their head underwater to get the bit of food. None of them could except Duke. Even if there is a muddy puddle of water with something floating on the top, he has to get it out. Its soooo cute because little bubbles come out of his nose.

I got a 3 month old J. R on Sunday & she had a bad ceizure today. Scared me sooooo bad. She is the sweetest. I have a J.R/Beagle mix & have had no problems with him, except him being overly hyper (Just makes me love him more). So my question is , can these ceizures be prevented & if so , how? Thank you in advance to anyone that takes the time to answer my question. Debra Lynn

ok this is hard for me to do, but i need to find out how to find a home for a german shepard that i got for my dad over a year ago. at that time he was a puppy and now he has grown and my elderly father can not handle the dog and i sure cant (have tried). he's name is Bullet and he is a sweetie, he and my dog are great friends but there is no way i can keep him. and I am afraid if i dont find a place soon my dad or mom will just take him off somewhere cause he has started to get out of the 4foot fence by climbing/jumping. and my dad at 67 and having heart problems isnt in good enough shape to go chasing after him day and night. Bullet just needs someone who is willing to spend time with him and is ok with how active he is. I do have pictures and anyone can email me telling me what to do, all advice is greatly greatly appreciated. i live in Northern Louisiana if that helps anyone know anything. I have tried a shelter here but got no response from then when i asked for help.

My dog has bitten people three times. Once 4 years ago and twice within the past 7 months. He doesn't seem to like to be close to anyone who is not in my immediate family and usually he will run up to visitors, lick them, then leave them alone or he will stay away fromt he people and go off by himself and sleep.

When he bit this past summer, my friend was very upset that we did not put him to sleep. My family has not taken this lightly. We have had many arguments about whther to put him to sleep or not. We are very divided. We started watching the dog whisperer and have learned alot about the pack animal tate of mind and try to keep him away from people.

My sister's bf came to visit and my mom warned my dad not to let him walk my dog, even though he wanted to. But my dad did anyway (we are all upset about that) and my dog bit my sister's bf. Now my sister wants to put him to sleep and the rest of the family doesn't know what to do.

Should dogs who bite die?

For example bark when stranger is near or ringing doorbell. Or just be on guard until he knows that person is fine to be in the house like until they are talking to me.

Not all "Backyard Breeders are bad......I have 6 dogs (all same breed) and all are AKC .....beautiful dogs.........I have a small building connected to my house where they can come in and out ....like an extension to my beautiful home. I'm I considered a "Backyard Breeder" because my dogs are not running buck wild in my house? I barely make any money when I do have a litter.....I pay a lot out....I have pet insurance for all my dogs....makes the bills alot easier. They have regular vet checks.....shots...ect......I will not breed my beautiful dogs unless I get the ok from my vet. I don't want to ruin the breed I want to better the breed. Why do so many "Backyard Breeders" get bad names??

I read on many sites not to "over protect" the dog because they might become neurotic. What do they mean when they say "over protect"?

I am w/ my dog most of the day, starting from when I wake up [he is sleeping by my side] to when I leave, which is about 5pm. He stands by the window when I leave & watches me as I leave.

My father has told me he gets sad when I am not here & mostly just lays in my bed waiting for me to come home.

Sometimes I find him playing w/ my other brother, but he goes to bed early so I don't know how long this last.

Should I worry about my Yorkie? Or is this just a common thing that happens when dogs love their owners. When I read online "don't over protect" the yorkie it made me confused & worried. Any answers will be nice. Thanks.
