Try reading the back of the bag. You feed a dog, usually, according to their weight and age. You can break it up into two meals.

Remember if you feed a dog a corn or wheat base dog food you will have more waste then if you feed your dog a rice base dog food. Dry food, less gas.

A puppy, eats, usually 3 times a day. But a puppy can still be a puppy until it is about 10 months old, then it begin to develope into an adult. The breed that you mention here is a short, stocky, strong, and hardy eater as an adult. From about 2 months old you should feed the puppy three times a day; morning, noon and evening. Always be sure that it has plenty of clean water to drink. Never feed a puppy table scraps nor any kind "people food". Actually, you should never feed any doy, no matter the age, "people food". Back to your puppy, continue to feed him/her 3 times a day until the puppy is about 5 or 6 months old. Generally at about that age they will begin to understand when they really need to eat or not.

Good luck, and also give your puppy pelnty of love, which helps them to understand you and to learn.

I think you should always feed a bull terrier pup about 3 and 4 times a day.

Bull terriers, especially, puppies, need a balanced diet too.

You must include their balanced diet with some vegetables, protein food, and some treats too.

Good Luck!!

Take the recommended amount of dog food for the day and divide and feed it in four portions. You can also give the puppy a few dog biscuits or little bland treats for puppies. A Kong with just a little bit of peanut butter inside makes a good chew treat.
Always be sure there is plenty of fresh water.
Congrats on a great dog!

Puppies should be fed 4 times per day, until they are 10 weeks old. Then 3 times per day until they are 6 months old. Then twice a day for life..Until they are at least 2, they should be given all that they will eat in one 'sitting', or about 5 minutes, when they turn away from the bowl..If you put the bowl up when they are through, it will be so much easier to keep them potty trained and on a schedule..
If pups and young dogs are fed less often, they become gluttons..eating without even pausing and just inhaling their food..They are more prone to stomach upset, and don't derive as much nutrition as they do if fed more often..
As the answer above said, if the dog is lept outside, he can be free fed, just leaving food out for him, and keeping it fresh..but this doesn't work well for a dog until it is well potty trained if kept indoors..

It he wild, dogs hunt morning and evening, as prey comes down to water..

A puppy 8 weeks old to 6 months should be fed 3 times a day. At 6 months this can be changed to 2 times a day for the remainder of life.

Feeding your puppy on a schedule opposed to free feeding (leaving food at all the time) will help with housetraining, allow you to know if your dog is off food which can be a sign of illness, and help prevent obesity.

Feeding a high quality food is equaly important. Heres how to find one.
Nothing you find at a grocery store is going to be a good food. High quality foods can be found at large pet store chains, or online. A couple of foods I like are Nutro Natural, Innova, and Cannidae.

There are other high quality dog foods. Here's how to spot them:

A high quality food will have little or no fillers such as corn, wheat or soy. These aren't very digestable for dogs, and are common food related allergens. Since you were seeing corn meal in the first few ingredients, those are not high quality foods. Foods list ingredients by content, with the ingredient it contains most of at the top.

A high quality food will not contain BHT, BHA or Ethoxyquin, these are all chemical preservatives that have been linked to cancer.

A high quality food will not contain by-products of any kind. Meat meals are ok as long as the source of the meat is listed, such as Chicken Meal.

A high quality diet should have meat as at least the first ingredient., and be made from human grade ingredients. Foods that don't use human grade ingredients often get their ingredients from less than desirable sources, such as meat from animals that were diseased, or euthanized.

There is another diet option other than dog food. Some people choose to feed a raw diet. This involves feeding the dog raw meaty bones and organ meat. However it is not as simple as throwing a couple chicken bones in a bowl everyday. If you wish to feed this type of diet, do lots and lots of research first. Switching to this diet without knowing what your doing can lead to nutritional problems for your dog. I'll give you some links as a starting point in research if you are interested in this type of diet.

Well, first of all , congrats on your new pup, they are hard to find. (the Spuds McKenzie dogs right?) I raised bull dogs for years. If the pup is very young, (say, under 4 mo) you should have food out for them at all times if they are outside. ( I call it "Free Feeding") they need to eat all the time because theyre growing so fast. The water should be available all the time too. If they are inside dogs, House training might be tough, but works better if you are crate training.
A pup cant hold it too long, so if you need to leave for a while, Let him eat & drink, take him out for a long walk in the yard , let him go pee & poo poo then put him in a crate without food & water, just a blanket & a nice nylabone chew bone (they are the BEST for bulldogs, they wont choke on them or destroy them too fast). Please stay away from rawhide bones, we almost lost several pups choking on that stuff. When you get home , take him directly outside so he can go potty again. Then put the food & water down for him/her. Good Luck!! :-)

Feeding dogs only twice a day, mostly if you feed them more than that they dig out in the backyard and stored there food there, when they feel hungry, they come back to that spot, that incredible.

I keep dry food out for my dogs all the time. They don't get fat because they don't over eat 'cuz they know the food is always there and no food aggression either.I give them a little moist food at supper time keeps them from begging while we eat.
