Some pets like on petfinder might not be in your area, but many rescues will be willing to drive the pet to you for example Puppymillrescue.com. These are wonderful people and they might be able to help you out.

Perhaps if you contacted the Cairn Terrier Club of Southern California, someone there might be able to recommend a good breeder?
http://www.cairnterrier.net/

There is also a Club based in Northern California but their website has been hacked. (CTNC)

This is a Cairn Terrier Rescue site based in Romoland, CA:
http://www.cairnrescue.com/

And Jerrie, on this website, offers to assist you to find a reputable breeder or rescue organisation in your area - you just have to email:
http://members.tripod.com/~Jerrier/index.html
It's the Rose Croft Cairn Terrier site which, according to puppysites.com is based in CA & also breeds Cairns.

This site might also help.

Hope that this has helped a little, good luck

Try searching for Cairn terrier rescue groups on line. Most breeds have rescue groups. PLEASE do not buy from a breeder if you can help it. I'm not against responsible dog breeders per se, but there are soooooo many dogs that need homes, especially in Los Angeles.

You can *buy* a Cairn *pup* from any of several THOUSAND reputable breeders in the US.

"Adopting" a "baby" is a different story......a fairy tale.

The animals you linked to are *********NOT********** Cairns!!! They are MUTT/MONGRELS!!! NOTHING even REMOTELY resembling Cairn at ALL!!!!! Shelter are TERRIBLE at guessing MUTT/MONGRELS & WILL *LIE* to place them!!!

You definiately need to RESEARCH!!! Start by READING the BREED STANDARD!!!!
