I got a 3 month old J. R on Sunday & she had a bad ceizure today. Scared me sooooo bad. She is the sweetest. I have a J.R/Beagle mix & have had no problems with him, except him being overly hyper (Just makes me love him more). So my question is , can these ceizures be prevented & if so , how? Thank you in advance to anyone that takes the time to answer my question. Debra Lynn

I have a J.R. mix.His mom was a pit bull and his dad was a long legged J.R. He has never had a seizure so I don't know much on the subject, but i can appreciate your love for your little one and if it were my dog I would get him/her to the vet soon.Good luck,I hope she gets better.

Your dog needs you more just because of and especially for that reason. Other people may not love him as much or at all because of the seizures. It is really not as bad as one might think. Most times your dog will come out of the seizure just fine. Usually something stressful for your pup triggers a seizure so just try to be a very loving and caring parent for your pup. Jacks are so cute and feisty and loving. If you were that little and cute your Jack R would love you and care for you no matter what.

I have an almost 2 yr. old J.R....he's the best ever...and he is also extremely hyper...
but; he's never had seizures. I can tho say I used to have a pekingese that had them, he eventually died. (I didnt get him to a vet quick enough) it was a horrible death. Get that puppy to a vet...QUICK!
I've heard some dogs get them, and can be medicated, and live a good life.

Your dog has seizures either because it had a severe injury to the head or has a problem and needs vet care. Find out why it has seizures and get medicine and your dog should have a relatively normal life.

Darl, it sounds like you may have to take the little girl to a vet. Dogs can get epilepsy, if this is the case, they can give her medication just like humans. Good luck with it, and take care.
