We came home last night to our 10 month old 6lb yorkie-poo chewing on some pieces of potpourri he found on our coffee table. He was in good spirits last night, but we woke up to find that he had thrown up several times during the night, and it has continued all day today. He seems fairly sick, and will only drink water out of my hand. We called the vet today and they said that they would just induce vomitting, and as he was already doing so, we haven't taken him in. I am worried because he is not his normal self, and will not touch his food. Any words of wisdom?

I have a female, 12 year old Entlebucher Sennenhund who has developed incontinence in her later years. She is able to control her bladder until she goes to sleep, then she urinates in her sleep. Does anyone have any natural remedies for incontinence in an older dog? Our research says she probably needs hormones, however we are hesitant to start her on this type treatment due to her age.

the dog is a spaniel mix and one year old, how do I train the dog to obey me and not just run away every chance it gets.

I thought she was finally trained. She goes outside when its nice out..and uses a wee-pad indoors. Every once in a while she will pee on the carpet, or even on our beds!!! I don't know what to do!

I am about to buy a house with a yard, and I would love to add a new addition to our family. I was wondering what breeds, or even mixes, would be best for a house with small children and a large lawn. I would like a dog who will protect our family and be loyal, NOT DANGEROUS. Any personal experiances you can share would be very helpfull!

I am visiting my fiance for a week with my 4 year old dog Sadie and this morning when I took her out to go potty she wouldn't go. She's knows the comands go pee pee and poo poo but she wouldn't go, She wouldn't act like she was going to then she would hear something and got distracted. I was out with her for 45 minutes and she wouldn't go. I know she had to cuz she had been in the house for 9 hours overnight which isn't unusal for her since she doesn't tell us when she has to go. I tried again about 2 hours later and she went pee after maybe 10 mins. She did the same thing tonight when I brought her out and only went pee after about 50 mins. She has been down here several times before so it can't be cuz she isn't used to it. And at home it only takes her 3 mins tops to do both of her buisinesses. Will she be ok if I make her wait til morning to go again? I am getting so frustrated when she won't go and I hate getting mad at her because she is so sweet.

he hides under the deck all the time but comes out when hes hungry and when he needs to go to the wash room. he is scaired of everything and when he walks it's like he's walking on egg shells or tip toeing. he does not want to come out to play any more especially when it's cold outside. we have to bribe him to come out and put treats on the ground and still after that it's hard to get him out. He was happier in the summer time and when we had our other dog. what is wrong with him what can i do?

My last dog Jess, we had wormed at the vet. It cost a lot of money. (As vets do) Our new puppy is two months old and has not been treated yet. The supermarket worming treatments are at a fraction of the price.

Hello,

I wrote this for my Doberman about a month before his second year birthday. Now He's almost three! He's come down alot since this past year and we are closer than ever. Anyway his birth is coming up so I thought I share this poem and didcated every dog owner here who's lucky enough to have that special friend(s).

My Jerry baby is almost two years old,
he's handsome, robust, and way outta control!

Shining black coat with deep brown eyes,
he love to chase the neighbors and butterflies!

Jerry like to eat my best friend's shoes,
plus the furniture, pillow, or whatever he choose!

He would follow me up and down all day,
where I sleep, that's his bed!

Sometimes I would take Jerry out for a walk,
people that saw us would shout "What a magnificent dog!"

Little do they know he's spoiled and well fed,
charming on the outside with a mischivous head!

Jerry is the burden of my love and a comforting shore,
Without him, I'd be long gone I'm sure.

my beautiful liver and tan doberman has hypoparathyriodism and is on meds. She also has generalised demodictosis which cant be effectively treated until her immune system is stronger(she looks like the dobes out of resident evil). Her skin has open lesions on it which are healing thanks to a rinse of garlic and lemon extract. Her feet are swollen and her tear duct no longer work properly. She has specially mixed eye drops from the vet(200 dollars every two months). I have maxed out my $5000 credit card at the vet. She is on Incremin as a multivitamin, zinc, echineacia, extra vit c and chondroitin. The vet is suggesting i put her down but i would spend another $5000 if it would get my baby girl better. She is a happy dog and isnt in any pain for those who would suggest i am cruel for keeping her alive. Help, i am desparate to get her better than what she is.
