Both males and females can hump as displays of dominance. They should both be fixed as soon as they are old enough and squirt the humper everytime he tries it.

I was reading other peoples answers, and they said" she could be showing her dominance"
I have a female that does the same thing, I don't think its the Dominance thing at all, cause my dogs does the humping all the time, and she isn't dominance at all. She will let other dogs chew on her and she doesn't care. She isn't at all.
So ask your doctor.

Mounting behavior in dogs is a dog asserting its dominance. If you are not going to breed your female, you should get her spayed. That will probably help with this behavior.

This is a dominant behavoir by your female pet, to show the other one that she is the "leader" of the two. It's very normal, nothing to worry about :) That is how they present their "status" amongst each other.

she is claiming her dominance over the male. it is nothing sexual. in a wolf pack the female is more dominant than the male. she is just doing what comes natural. P.S. tell her i said you go girl!

This is normal for some females. I would not let her continue to do it though. How old is she? Go ahead and have her spayed and in all probability, it will stop.

It could be because she is trying to show dominance. My dog does that all the time to other dogs. I know she is showing dominance.
