Grapes/raisins, there is much debate over garlic but it is in most dog foods;
Also my dogs eat chocolate and I have only ever had one have a reaction to it. I just got back from giving everyone their yearly blood work done and the chocolate hasn't hurt their liver a bit. Of course I don't give them a lot; a cookie now and then or a hershey kiss (not like a pound or anything).

Here is the ASPCA's list of foods that you should not feed your dog:
Alcohol- can cause coma and death
Avocado- high fat content can lead to Pancreatitis
Chocolate- contains caffeine and other things that are toxic to their nervous system and heart
Coffee- again caffeine (I would also assume sodas although it is not listed)
Fatty Foods- may cause Pancreatitis
Macadamia Nuts- contains toxins that affect the muscles, digestive and nervous systems
Moldy or Spoiled foods- contain multiple toxins
Onions and onion powder- contains sulfides that can damage red blood cells
Raisins and Grapes- damages kidneys and can lead to death
Salt- can create an electrolyte imbalance
Yeast (unbaked)- can cause bloating and death
Products sweetened with xylitol (an artificial sweetener)- causes sudden drop in blood sugar that can lead to depression, seizure and loss of coordination.

alot of houseplants are poison to dogs but i have never seen a dog that would eat any. any other food(including chocolate) may not be good for them but not life threathening if they happen to eat alittle. Normally a dog will barf up anything that upsets his stomach. and that includes poisen. naturally you don't want to give a dog sweets but in moderation its not that big a deal. as a dog doesn't really care what he eats, just that he eats, i can't see a problem. he just doesn't need any treats rather than doggy biscuits.

I've read that dogs should not have nuts, onions, grapes(probably due to the seeds),and of course chocolates. They also should not eat poultry bones, they are not toxic but they can be deadly.

Disputing the earlier answer my vet said that my pup could have white meat turkey, no skin, no fat, no bones. Dogs cannot have caffeine, grapes, raisins and chocolate to name a few.

Don't feed dogs grapes / raisins, or onions, or chocolate...
Actually 'people food' is not good for them, but many would argue that.
