I am visiting my fiance for a week with my 4 year old dog Sadie and this morning when I took her out to go potty she wouldn't go. She's knows the comands go pee pee and poo poo but she wouldn't go, She wouldn't act like she was going to then she would hear something and got distracted. I was out with her for 45 minutes and she wouldn't go. I know she had to cuz she had been in the house for 9 hours overnight which isn't unusal for her since she doesn't tell us when she has to go. I tried again about 2 hours later and she went pee after maybe 10 mins. She did the same thing tonight when I brought her out and only went pee after about 50 mins. She has been down here several times before so it can't be cuz she isn't used to it. And at home it only takes her 3 mins tops to do both of her buisinesses. Will she be ok if I make her wait til morning to go again? I am getting so frustrated when she won't go and I hate getting mad at her because she is so sweet.

we don't have a yard it's an apartment so she is walked on a leash. She goes just fine on the leash at home and was fine the other times I took her down here. I tried unhooking her so she could smell and she won't leave my side and just watches me, and if i step away she steps towards me.

Your Sadie is unsure of where her bathroom is because nowhere at your fiances' house can she find her urine scent. If she eventually starts going outside, make sure to return her to the same spot each time so that her nose can detect her own scent. She should continue to use that area. Don't be frustrated with her, you'd be upset if you had to go pee and you couldn't find YOUR bathroom!!

Most deffinitly fright. Being in a new place is hard for dogs, the best thing to do is just let them run around until they know there surroundings and feel comfrotable.

Well maybe your dog hasn't found its "territory" in the backyard. If the yard is fenced then leave her alone and eventually she will go. Good Luck!

Even though she has been to your fiance's before it is still a new place for her. Be patient. She is reacting to unfamiliar surroundings.
