The cost of spay/neutering and vaccinations is typically included as part of the adoption fee. And the cost of that is generally dependent on the size/weight of the dog. The bigger or heaver the dog, the more the adoption fee is. Some shelters will put a cap on the cost, so the bigger dogs have a fair chance of being adopted. Call your local shelter for a ball-park cost.
And thank you for considering adoption.

I would say to adopt from a shelter it would probably be around $100 dollars. Sometimes they have already been neutered and have had their shots. If not, I would say probably another $150 to $250 for shots and neutering. Good for you to be getting a dog from a shelter and to be a responsible owner and know he should be neutered!!!
There's also the other stuff that comes with a new dog -- leash, collar, food, crate (my dog loves hers).
I don't know if a regular boxer rescue organization would be more or less expensive than taking a dog from a shelter in your town. There are so many great, deserving dogs that need a home so I know you'll be able to find the perfect one. Somewhere out there is a lucky dog that's going to get a second chance at life.

Depends on your area, and whether you're adopting from a private rescue or humane society. Most shelters neuter before they adopt dogs out, and include that into the cost of the adoption fee. Same with vaccinations. So really, you'll only have the one-time adoption fee to worry about. Humane societies are generally lower in cost, and for dogs are somewhere between $50-$100. Private rescues may be a little higher, as they get less donations to help with the costs than humane societies. Overall, the cost won't be too bad. And thank you for choosing to rescue instead of buying a puppy! :-)

It depends on the shelter you go to. I adopted twice from two different places. The first dog came from a private shelter and was $110 which included a microchip, but I had to have her spayed ay my own expense when she was old enough. Unfortunately, she was sick when I adopted her, which I didn't know, and I lost her after 10 days days to Distemper.
The second time I adopted from the local Humane Society and the cost was $95, which included the cost of spaying, her first vet visit, and the cost of her rabies vaccine.
Congratulations on wanting to save a life :-)
EDIT TO ADD:
Check the internet. Most shelters have web sites that will tell you in advance what the fee is, not to mention, that you can also look the a lot of the dogs before you go in person.

The costs really varies from shelter to shelter. But always much cheaper than getting one from a breeder.A lot of times the dogs are already neutered/ spayed and up to date on their shots. Check the web under boxer rescue. Good luck and I hope you get the dog you're looking for.

Thank you for adopting from a shelter
If you defiantly want a Boxer, contact your local rescue centre - google "boxer rescue'
As for the cost of adopting a dog at the shelter where i work (in Australia) is around $130 for a dog over 6 months - fully vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, flea'd, temperament tested, de-sexed, the lot. For puppies it is around $240, as per above cept the pup may need to come back for another vacc, but that is done at a cheaper price.
We do get pure breeds in sometimes, but mainly crosses.

You could look in your local dog pound and find one for 30 - 100 dollars. My pound charges 85. Then there are the rescues that charge about 100 - 300 depending on the rescue. This is still cheaper than buying from a pet store or breeder. If you buy from a breeder or store they will usually not be neutered. If you get one from a pound, they will neuter it for the total price. Hope this gives you a good idea.

I just adopted a spaniel/beagle cross from a shelter last weekend, and my total cost was $385 CAD. This was actually one of the highest prices of the shelters that I was looking through on petfinder.com, but the dog I found was just too awesome to not adopt.
I would think that $100-$300 would be average cost, and almost always includes a dog with up to date vaccinations, rabies shots, flea treatment, deworming, and spay/neutering.

Our rescue group charges an $80-$120 adoption fee. That covers spaying/neutering, all shots, a full vet check-up, and some fundamental come/sit/stay training. Three cheers for you, for adopting a shelter pet!!!

I know that the humain society in toronto charges from 100-200 dollars depending on the size of the dog you want. If you want a little dog it will cost about 100 dollars cause they have to give him shots to make sure he stays safe. O r a bigger dog which requires a bigger medicine dose which mean a little more money so over all b/w 100 to 200 dollars. Great choice on the humain society way to give animal another chance espically the dogs!:)
