she just had pups two weeks ago she is nursing them. it is one nipple and it is egg shaped and firm she has never had it before she gave birth and we just noticed it two days ago. she is only a year its her first litter and it wasnt planned. she has a vet apporntment but i would like a heads up please advise.

I would of course do as you are doing and take her to the vet. This just may be a swollen gland but on the fear side it could be a tumor starting which is very common.

Since this is a recent development, and she's been nursing, it sounds like maybe the mammary gland is infected. If it's an infection, I'm not really sure what could be done. If she takes antibiotics, that could affect the puppies. I'm glad you have an appointment to see the vet. Good luck!

I WOULD GO TO THE VETS AND GET IT CHECKED OUT.
